Default 12 string

not having much luck searching so i thought i'd throw this out...anyone know of a good (preferably freeware) plug-in to simulate 12-string guitar and/or acoustic guitar (when playing an electric guitar)?
thanks

Depends on if you want it to sound halfway realistic or not.

there is a nice plugin called "bodilizer" that may help an electric sound like an acoustic, but as far as making is 12 string, i dont think so, personally.

if you want nicely sampled 12 string sounds, I would go with

"real guitar"

lemme find the link:

http://www.musiclab.com/products/realgtr_info.htm

they have some realistic strumming patters, some lead parts, and the sounds are great.

Yeah - real guitar does a reasonable job of a 12 string - but as with any other sampled guitar - the real thing is still better as there are nuances produced by picking style, body resonance etc.

An idea - download the 'excitation signals' at the bottom of this article on physical modeling techniques for guitar and try them as impulse responses in REAverb (wet signal, moderate volume).

http://www.ee.columbia.edu/~ronw/dsp/

Worth the try!

Then you'll need a doubler & high ringing frequencies (ReaFir will do) to get to a 12-string

but even then....
