Default req: unified actions and behaviour for both Ai and Items and midi notes

Basically same shortcut or menu->action for all! : ) Because at the end Automations Items are items and they share many similar actions with midi notes too. This would boost workflow exponentially (imo)

I'll keep updating this list with your input!
paragraph with ** means needs feature of AI equivelant
paragraph with ## means needs feature of Item

Midi Note, Item, Automation Item list:
- glue
- split
- nudge
- mute **
- toggle Mute **
- Snap relative to grid **
- Snap offset **

Item, Automation Item list:
- copy item vertically **
- copy paste pooled
- open property dialogs
- Item: Select all other media items or AIs that share pooled (ghost) MIDI source data with selected items **
- moving edges of an Item or AI should work as being the same type when they are in a selection and 1 edge of them is being changed.
- Loop points: Set loop points to items **
- Envelope: Duplicate and pool items ##

Thank you

Can't you define all your mouse-modifiers
that they are unified?

You can - if you want - use the same
modifier assignments for all sections -
as there are "main-window", "midi-editor",
"midi-list editor" etc.

Once you have done this you have your
"unified mouse behaviour", right?

Yes, yes, yes ... please.

It's really annoying that I cannot eg make F2 open up the property dialogs for audio/MIDI items and automation items.

Please create unified version for all item actions as the OP asked for.

Snap offset (and muting/disabling):

hi Masi!

you ask for snap off set for AI's, but is there snap off set for Items?

also mute checkbox? there is not mute for AI.

I think it would be useful to strict this thread to existing features that need to be connected/unified.

You can find it in the media item properties directly below position and length.

Anyway I want the snap offset and actions to set them.

So I want one. I thought aksing for a mute checkbox is already on your list. Actually you can mute the item with the context menu, but the checkbox is missing. And of course there is the issue with the actions. The action called "Envelope: Mute automation items" actually works like "Item properties: Toggle mute". OTOH there are no actions to mute/unmute AIs. More annyoing is (as with the item properties dialog) that "Item properties: Toggle items/track mute (depending on focus)" does not work on AIs.

Isn't asking for snap offset and muting of AI's to make them be in sync with features of media items in the spirit of the thread?

Ofcourse they do! i just thought when creating the thread to create prosody between existing features.
Edit: you are right i thought mute was done for AI's .. it's in the same boat .. updated
