Default move regions without markers?

Hi,

I'd like to be able to move regions without the markers moving with them.

I've scoured the options, extensions, actions, manual, everything I can think of, but can't find an answer!

Does anyone have any ideas if this is possible?

thanks

Kerr

I reckon the answer's no then

Has anybody else ever had a need for this?

Maybe it's just a one off unusual thing, but I could see me using it regularly

cheers

This might sort of work, but it's a bit clumsy.

Try using the region/marker manager. Manually enter a new end then new start time for the region. It will move the region to new location but leave the markers. You can then drag the region anywhere you like.

Disclaimer: this method is a bit flakey!

Consider managing your regions from items with the Heda's Region&Markers from items scripts

I'm kinda surprised that I couldn't find scripts or SWS actions to temporarily save and reload markers. This would have allowed a user to reload the original marker set after moving a region. SWS actions such as "Save/Load marker set" save regions too.

Nevertheless, it should be straightforward to write a script to save/load markers while skipping regions.

@julian
Heda's script can do that, you just have to mute the track ^^

My script "Copy/paste project markers and/or regions" does that too.

This is all great guys, thanks.

What I really want to do is be able to manipulate all the items within the region when I drag it along the timeline.

Although none of the solutions are perfect, I've managed to create what I need with a custom action also taking advantage of Heda's script for region management.

cheers for the help
