Yeah i'm somewhat the same, I'm not having cynical thoughts though... More worried thoughts... like ooohh what IF they don't have this... What IF that doesn't get fixed.... ahhhhhh what's it going to be..... ahhhhh ahaha

When I take a look in my crystal ball I see lots of abbreviated net language and plenty of soiled undergarments. The "where is feature x?" question does inevitably creep up, but since everyone tends to spend a considerable amount of time sending positive incantations towards SF and NY after each release, the seldomly seen nervous invocation of glass-half-empty scenarios will fail to deprive me of any sleep.
Unless there's no area selection. Say it ain't so.

Well, truth be said, most of us will probably not see their features added.
It is there just to many requests and to much of a variety of those.
So people should be ready.
Just hope they choose/invented some very good ones that will keep (most) people happy anyway.

Yeah I don't think that will ever change, an edit group has nothing to do with faders and pans whatsoever. It's about editing multi-mic'd sources, so that if you have 3 mics on an acoustic guitar you can edit them all at once without dealing with the quirky item grouping...
Track grouping handles fader/pan/solo/mute/etc groups, different feature And in addition to that of course you can do things the way you mentioned, by just selecting several tracks and adjusting them all at once. When I first moved to Pro Tools I was pissed that I couldn't do that, haha... Definitely won't be losing that any time soon.

Well I'm looking forward to it.
I hope this isn't a stupid question, but since I bought my Reaper license in the middle of version 3, I will get a free update to Reaper 4, is that right?
I didn't buy the professional license though - don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Your license is good till ver 4.99, so you're covered. No difference between licenses except the 'terms' and the 'cost'.
Enjoy.

They've still got 15 hours, west coast time...
I don't see why 3.74pre and 4.0beta1 can't exist at the same time.
But yeah, if it's not coming out let us know so landoleet doesn't go down from a DOS attack (i.e. all of us repeatedly hitting the refresh button, trying to see if its there

I'm fairly new around here, so does "late November" really mean a later date, or does Cockos pretty much get things out when they say they will?

I'm suing because my ass fell asleep from sitting here waiting for 4.0. Also, my thumb hurts from clicking on the prerelease page. Get me Erin Brockovich! This thing is going to the courts.
[It would be even better if Reaper 4.0 contained traces of hexavalent chromium]

Hey Adam,
Can you elaborate the groups thing further? What can you accomplish with groups that you can't with folders for example? And like you mentioned, what's the difference between groups and having multiple tracks selected?
