THANKS!!! This is so useful.

Can you please add the same when editing region edges and moving markers? If items can have this tooltip, why not regions and markers?

Hell, why not edit cursor, even? Sometimes you wanna position it REALLY accurately, tooltip would definitely help. Thoughts?

EDIT: This is interesting. When drawing in an item, tooltip lists, in this order: Length, Start, End. For time selection, it is: Start, End, Length.

Why not have the same order in both (and by that I mean the more logical one: Start, End, Length)?

While there is some UI update work being done. Would it be possible to get rid of the play cursor flickering somehow? When zoomed in it's really laggy/stuttering.

Now we just need something to connect segment end and start to avoid jump between item...

Here's the correction by adding manually a point

I don't see this option, but there's another one, that's new - "Show VST Folders":

Right click the word "categories" or "developers" in the actual left pane, as if you were going to add a new category or developer.

Both of these are great, thank you!

I commented on an earlier pre about the slowness in scrolling the developer list if you have a lot of devs (I have a few...).

Sorry for the quality, I shrank it a little so as not to take up to much screen space

Full size version here - https://stash.reaper.fm/32036/develo...t_slowness.gif

It would be much appreciated if this list could be scrolled with the mousewheel, if at all possible.

Cheers

Scrolling speed is I think something at the OS level that might not be changeable (not 100% sure). I remember some other applications having the same issue (and not being able to mousewheel through it)...

Having a multi-column dropdown instead of one big scrolling list would be better, for sure. And/or mousewheelable through, yes.

I can't drag auto-created developer folders into newly created folder names, as you suggested.

I also wonder, how would those scroll menus act for touchscreen interface?
No scroll? Only pressing an arrow button at the bottom of the list would work?

P.S. schwa, ED, thanks for telling me about a proper way of add unlisted plugins.

If you guys still have the region edge edit code open:

I‘m using a magic mouse. It‘s extremely hard to move the edge of a region
because of the scroll functionality of the mouse. As soon as I a drag the edge
a bit, Reaper will change into scroll mode. This doesn‘t happen with item edges,
so maybe there‘s an easy way around this?

Best,
Frank

This is not so much a bug, but more of a nitpick.

When dragging things to a category there's 2 things that could be improved:
  1. The target category could be highlighted so you know where you're about to drop to
  2. The current viewed category shouldn't change. Currently when you drop something it switches to that category, which ends up causing a lot of extra clicking while organizing.

This is in macOS.

Yep! This is quite annoying when organizing stuff. Please, don't change to the destination folder after dropping stuff into it!

(Funny you have a category named "u-he"... yep, their stuff is in a category all of their own! )

Also, should JS not be showing up with 'No Category' and 'No Developer'?

Default Reaper 5.65 Pre6 drops midi connections and freezes

I've been experiencing some sporadic freezing in Reaper. Sometimes it comes back after a couple of minutes and sometimes it does not.

I've included a forced crash dump file while reaper was stuck and never came back.

LINK: https://www.dropbox.com/s/zbbv3se76u...84%29.zip?dl=0
Procedure steps before crash:

1: Opened a blank session at startup.
2: Closed the blank session and loaded my large writing template.
3: Loaded one Zebra HZ instrument.
4. Reaper was not responding to my keyboard so I decided to check the midi driver in reaper's preferences.
5. I hit the command to open Reapers preference window and it froze before opening the window.

Versions:

Reaper Pre Release 5.65 pre6
Windows 10 1703 build
Zebra HZ lastest version

Yes, this switching is counterproductive. Would be better if it would stay on previous view.

An idea/UI fix - when moving an envelope segment or a point, normal or fine speed, tooltip is fixed in one place on an Y axis for a point, on both axles for a segment.

Agument for a change in current behaviour: now a user needs to follow mouse and catch those tiny font numerical values as they move and that is pretty difficult on its own.

Current behaviour:

Indeed, it'd be much better if tooltip wouldn't follow the mouse pointer.

It would be so nice if we could select several automation items across tracks or envelope lanes and copy/paste them all.

Please!

Well... you can Ctrl+drag&drop copy them that way already, which is pretty spiffy.

Really? I mean, you EvilDragon saying that? C'mon man you that's not spiffy at all, that's just a way to create a copy of something but ctrl+c and ctrl+v exist for a reason, let's use it please

Default Solo

Regarding the new Solo change..

I could have sworn Solo now allowed you to solo a child track in a folder even if it's parent was muted?

It doesn't seem to work now.

It's always been something I would love to see changed as it doesn't make any sense to me for the parent to not let the solo through if you solo one of it's childs.

I can see why it can be hand if solo in place is on but for normal solos, could we make it so a child solo overides the parent's mute state temporarily?

If not, we have to unmute the parent each time.

Thanks.

Solo overrides mute on the same track, but not a parent track mute. A muted non-soloed track can't produce output (even if child tracks or tracks that send to the track are soloed).

You can solo a child track in a muted folder, which means that any sends the child track sends will send, but the muted folder will still be muted. This is the same behavior as 5.50.

Thanks for confirming that Justin.

I guess it's useful then to allow the user to "control" what is heard and gives a way to hear just say, sends without the parent etc so all in all, useful. All good

Small bug I'm hoping that could be fixed easily and that others probably get too.

If you have just played a file in media explorer and have autoplay on.

Going to a different program and then back to reaper always triggers media explorer to start playing again.

Maybe because I have reaper set to offline audio when not focused but great if this could be fixed.

If not this set of pres, I'll put a bug report in, just thought I'd mention it.

Default Right clicking on TCP FX button.

When right clicking on the TCP FX button..

Anyway to get the current FX on that track to show at the top again and not at the bottom.

This is my main method of getting to the FX (in the arrange page) and would be great to have the current FX be at the top (where the mouse is) rather than the bottom.

Or did I miss the option for this?

They were never on the top... always on the bottom after the folders, recent, etc. and there was never an option for their location.

I agree they should be on the top!
