Playback - WRITE switch to L.PREVIEW loses SEND volumes
Reaper v5.40 x64 on Windows7x64
Have some activated and armed parameters with automation, including track volume and one send volume parameter at least.
Switch to WRITE mode, start playback and switch to LATCH PREVIEW.
The SEND volume loses its latched status, which it should not do, because it was writing before the switch to Latch Preview.

v5.90 x64 Windows 7 x64.
This is still a thing, having a send volume parameter latched, switching from Latch/Write/Touch to Latch Preview, that latched status is gone.
Yeah, it's a bug.

Hmm, as it is now, simply switching to write mode does not cause the latch to get latched, you have to actually touch the fader to start a latch.
Separately -- switching from write to latch always clears the latch, even if you set it by tweaking the fader. So in this way latch preview is inconsistent with latch, in that in latch mode it always resets the latch when switching from write. Hmmm.

The process in which I most often use this is when I pick us settings from other spots on the track. I’ll turn on WRITE, hit PLAY so things get latched(they don’t when transport is is still in STOP mode) and quickly switch to Latch Preview. I go to the spot I need the setting at, make some adjustments and write to that area. If I just want to copy the setting, I’ll just stay in WRITE mode, not hit play, locate to target area, hit PLAY, write to the area and change to READ.
Sometimes I’ll be in LATCH mode, setting up and I’ll want to STOP transport for some reason. To prevent losing my setup I’ll switch to Latch Preview.
I do expect latches to stay alive unless I for example stop transport in LATCH mode. This is a very basic toolset, so it’s best to keep the rules simple.
It’s already a little strange that nothing is latched when WRITE mode is activated when transport is stopped even though the parameter knobs on the MCP/TCP and other armed controls turn RED, or that when you stop transport in LATCH mode after writing some stuff, the parameter knobs on the MCP/TCP stay red within the area Reaper wrote to, even though nothing should now be written any more. Latches should reset when you hit STOP in LATCH mode, yet the indicators on the knobs say different.
If you want to keep parameters non-latched in WRITE when STOPed, make them yellow on those knobs and controls.
And why should volume controls be any different to parameter controls when going from WRITE to LATCH PREVIEW ?
