What am I missing:
- easy to use native multisampler Poise like (so we don't need to put 20 Samplomatic instances in one track)
- advanced graphical interface possibilities for JS plugin (they look very cheap... this should be easy)
- support for ARA to allow for example better integration with Melodyne
- many, many, manyyy improvements to midi (lots of posts about it, one more vote to each of them)
- embedded advanced WAV editing (wavosaur like, ...)
- improvements in "usability": should understand the main workflows and automate most steps (e.g. drum substitution, etc.)
- bit more nice VSTi included, maybe with higher integration level (drag&drop, etc.)
- better automated tempo detection
- an advanced note scoring with printing capabilities

Want Poise? Then use Poise.

JS plugins are already kinda-sorta skinnable utilizing LICE. Check the developer section and you will see.

Yep, this'd be nice. Patience.

It's already much better than it was. I find Reaper's MIDI actually better and faster to work with than Studio One 2, for example.

Most likely won't happen, since you can already set external editors for waveform editing. So put Wavosaur there and that's it. Integrated to Reaper? Don't think it will happen, as Reaper is all about non-destructive editing.

This won't happen, as it's not what Cockos really wants for Reaper. The point of Reaper is to be as small as possible while offering as much as possible. That's why there's not really an aspiration to bundle a lot of different instruments with the installation. Use whatever else you want - each user can tailor Reaper to his/her own needs.

Default Some point taken

Hi ED, always admired your posts!

Yes I can use Poise. While potentially Logic Pro and Mixcraft users will never do because the embedded one is even better...

Didn't know about skinning JS. Are there ready made skins to download in the stash maybe?

Only point to your comments is about embedded WAV editor. I do use external editors but you typically loose marks and any other kinda tag, plus it doesn't update the original item (you have to save and re-insert)

About enriching Reaper I do agree Reaper should stay light but nothing stops the devs from making agreements with third parties and realize some better integration: one good example is http://www.stillwellaudio.com/ that offers plugings for half price for Reaper users (but that's just plain VST, no particular integration job) or Melodyne with Studio One
