Drag on Virtual MIDI Keyboard key generates rapid-fire note-ons (FIXED)
Open the Virtual MIDI Keyboard
Pick a key, left-click and drag up and down on the key
Duck
Movie demonstrating the problem on Dropbox

That would never be what I personally want, and vertical position on this keyboard is already "mapped" to velocity. But it might make sense in some MPE virtual MIDI keyboard world, for sure.

It would absolutely make sense to do pitch bend instead of a barrange of note ons. Or, horizontal wiggle would do pitch bend, and up-down wiggle would do aftertouch.

I like EvilDragon's wiggle fantasies! Useful for sure, especially AT. Beats drawing it after the fact.

I'm just happy if the stream of note-ons without corresponding note-offs is addressed (rapid-fire hanging note generator). Wiggle fantasies beyond that are nice-to-haves but aren't part of this bug report.

No worries, I just don't want to dilute the focus of the original report. I'll support feature requests for the other stuff, though!

One more bump before the VMK window closes again... please add note-offs to the notes produced by the VMK.

What exactly do you mean? Because if I add e.g. JS: midi/midi_logger (MIDI Logger) to log the events the VMK generates I see both Note On and Note Off events on mouse drag.

Holy crap, you're right! It's fixed in recent REAPERs. Well, then, retroactive thank you to the devs.
