REQ: go to (put edit cursor at) last split on selected track
I searched the action list (including ReaPack) for an action that does this and couldn't find it.
It would come in really handy for editing podcasts in ripple mode.
Maybe it does exist and I was just not using the right search terms.
In case not, does anyone want to have a go at it?

So, you would want it to go to the previous item's start start point on that track?

Here is a gif which should explain it better:
I hope you understand what I mean. When I delete the item in the middle, I want the cursor to go to that same cut that I just did.

To identify actual splits vs. items that are touching, the script would have to check a) do item A and B have the same source file, and b) is B's source position the same as the source position at the end of A.
Doable. If I have some time later I might give it a go assuming nobody else gets there first.

^^ In this case, I think I am rather talking about cuts than splits (see the attached gif from post #3).

What about Item navigation: Move cursor left to nearest item edge?

I use this ALL THE TIME:
Item navigation: Select and move to previous item
It's is "track aware". The only thing that is does that you may no want is it also selects the item... but 99% of the time I want that.
I hope this helps.

So... to expand on this, you could create a Macro that adds Item navigation: Select and move to previous item after your Delete command... that way it's just 1 key command.

Yep, same here, have it assigned to Shift+B, Thonex might know why
There's also:
Item navigation: Select and move to next item assigned to Shift+N
