Default Norton seems to hate Lepoulin's plugins, are they really a threat?

My anti-virus Norton never stops deleting my lepoulin plugins, if it's really harmful then I'm glad about this,

but yet, I lack a heavy metal guitar vst amp on my pc, what shall I do outside of spending bucks that will leave me on the street?

I use avast and would tend to consider Norton's actions worthy of uninstall, but if you don't want to give it up, there are plenty of other good ones out there:

I must be a giant noob, but trying to delete the vsts from the plugins folder is pretty hard. "You need permissions from administrateurs to do it" and I'm ON the admin account.

My opinion would be that the thing that is harmful is Norton's, many people including myself consider it to be worse than a virus. ymmv

I've never been a fan of Norton, and honestly, I find Windows Defender to generally be adequate for personal use. But I also try to avoid risky PC behavior

I would call Norton the threat.

Does Windows Defender hog all your ram memories like most anti-virus does?
cause Northon doesn't

I'm going to call my new brand of hand soap "ram memories"

NOD32, https://www.eset.com/, you never notice it's there, except when it finds a virus

Don't install your vsts to C: or C:\Program Files. Put them in a folder in My Documents or something to make them easy to manage.

This is evidence enough that the Norton anti-virus is just a hindrance and completely incapable of doing what it should be supposed to do.
If it can't recognise a legit piece of software, should you trust it to recognise an actual threat? And if it messes with your software without even asking, isn't it just like a virus itself?

Get rid of Norton, LePou plugins are too good to not use them. The LeCto and Le456 are my favourites for heavy distorted guitars.

That said, there are other good free plugins you should definitely check as well: Ignite Amps, Nick Crow Lab, Mercuriall.

... or, tell Norton Security to restore the plug-ins and not check them again

Or, upload the plug-ins to Norton as "false positive" alerts, so that Norton can improve the checking.
https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive/

Or, suggest to the developer that he does that.

It's all fairly painless.

Done, they sent me an auto-message claiming that they now have leaved this file alone.

No, Windows Defender is a pretty lean AV solution.
