Default Reaper Crash - Open Reaper - transport Play - Divide by Zero

Oops some one forgot to check for divide by zero condition .

Please find attached the crash log.

Whilst opening Reaper of last opened composition Rumpenisserne. Opened ok, but then crashed as soon as I hit the space bar to play the piece. So I let Reaper close, had no choice on that it crashed, open Reaper again for the same composition, rewind to the beginning, hit play button and no crashing.

Operating system macOS, full details in attached crash log.

PS. Edit: 16-Jun-2019: Still crashing now worse, can not play the composition
without it crashing, crash log #3 attached. Almost getting to the stage where
Reaper is useless for this composition.

Regards,
Norman Freund

I have the exact same crash logs!
And it happens a lot since the last 2 updates.
I hope a new version with a fix will come relatively soon.

It's the apple DLS sampleplayer AU. I think this only happens with some macOS versions...

Thank for the reply Justin!
What can I do about that?
Can I delete that specific native Apple plugin that I never use anyway?
I didn't find it on my computer.
It's maybe hidden somewhere or part of a bundle file?
Thanks for your help!

I don't think you can easily delete it, but you can hide it from the FX browser, or you can choose not to use it...

Thanks Justin. So I try again with Reaper 5.981, still crashes on first opening. So I cross my fingers and open again -- no crash, I save close Reaper and open gain -- no crashes. I have noticed this before on other compositions on previous releases of Reaper.

Regarding your comment it is the Apple DLS Sampler, I did use the Apple "AUi : DLSMusicDevice(Apple)", I assume that is what you mean by the Apply DLS Sampler. This is something I can not omit to use if I want midi, well at least the midi sounds that come with the Apple operating system, OR is there another means of getting the general midi sounds?

Crash log has been attached as ReaperCrashLog05.txt .
