I play instruments and record my self a lot. I also use a lot cycle for recording. Usually first take i search what i want and then in second cycle usually is what i want to keep.
So i think this will be the best workflow for me:
1st request: start/stop recording at next loop cycle
--------------------------------------------
Cycle mode is on
i try ideas while cycling
i would activate action: start/stop recording at next loop cycle
i press stop and reaper keeps recording until the end of the cycle and stop.
2nd request: Start recording in next loop cycle and first stop toggles cycle off and second stop: finally stops
----------------------------------------
Cycle mode is on
i try ideas while cycling
i would activate action: start recording in next loop cycle and first stop toggles cycle off and second stop: finally stops.
i press stop for the last take but reaper continues recording but with cycle off
i press stop again and reaper finally stops
This is like the first with an extra feature. (Good for catching the tail effects -which i miss recording so many times - because i don't had the time to press loop cycle off before the end of the cycle.. because i have my hands on the instrument.)
Reaper then should be smart to:
if second stop took less then say 0.2 seconds from the first , reaper would delete this extras 0.2 seconds of take.
What do you think? wouldn't this sit beautifully next to this ones?
