Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I use it to copy all FX from a channel (also a paste version): SWS/S&M: Copy FX chain (depending on focus)

You can do than with manipulating track chunks only (extract FX state chunk, double it and probably generate new GUID for new FX).

Clumsy, manual work around:
MCP view
SHIFT + drag insert to another track
This copies the plugin including all automation

ALT + drag the copied plugin insert back to original track
This moves the affcted plugin, including all automation
Probably ok for a plugin or two. Do you need to do this a lot ?

I use it too! Of course that can be dangerous in the future if devs will add something after it.
