Default download reaper to usb?

my workstation is not on the net can I update my version using a usb stick?
Updates make me nervous sometimes Im swapping one problem for anouther.

Will this change any config/menus
(well Backup config then-hey good idea)

You can install each new verion of reaper to a portable installation. Theres a tick box for this and just make a new folder for this install and it becomes totally self contained. I have several installations of reaper on my machine, so any problems i just go back to a previous version.

Its called portable but you can still install it onto your harddrive, it doesn't have to be put on a usb stick.

To be absolutely safe you can also make a copy of any song you are working on and just work on the copy, using the new version of reaper, so if anything dramatic does happen, you have a pristine original to go back to.
