Summertime on Steroids (Now On Video)
Yep, the Stillwell Family Band, we finally got it done and on video. It was fun, but a lot of work.
Nothing fancy, all done in my recording studio, kind of down home style, and I hope you like it.

Really excellent all around! Great vid, great mix and it looks like everyone is having a blast. Most importantly though, that looks like the most comfortable studio chair that has ever graced this fine planet.
What a lovely experience for you guys. Magical and it all came together beatifully.
...and that chair! Jealous.

Thanks mschuster, and yeah that chair is very comfy. It originally had regular arm rests, but impossible to play guitar on, so I turned the arm rests around and now it works great for guitar. I've got it covered with a nice quilt my wife made.

Thanks Michael, have you got a recording of what you do with this song? I played this on stage as a rock song back in the 60s and 70s.
Let me know what your pals think.

Really well done, plus the quilt indeed ties the studio together. AND the groovy illuminated keyboard, what model is it?

Thank you zeekat, the keyboard you mention is a Komplete Kontrol S61 with 61 keys. On top of that is the old Kurzweil K2000.
The keyboard in the back of the room is an 88 key fully weighted keyboard.

Ahh this is great. You have a talented family. I am amazed at how similar mother and daughter (?) sound. Nice guitar licks and sounds. Watching and listening to this reminds me that my son and I have never tried seriously to record anything together. Gotta remedy that. The problem is that there is always something else that has to get done.

Thank you T, and yeah, make it a point to get together with your son and record. It's never too late until it's too late. I'm 79 years old and know this well.

Yes, well done! Of course, recording the old song "Summertime"
that everyone knows is a challenge. Both the video with the
overlays of the recordings and the song itself are really
great and just fun!
Daughter and wife certainly had a lot of fun with it. But you
can also see how the mastermind "Tod" put everything together
and conducted it.
The video brings the old song "Summertime" to life again in
the "Family Version" for the viewer, because he can see how
the musicians recorded it. It's documentary on the one hand
and inspirational on the other.
All in all: very felicitous! Everything is right: guitar licks,
piano, organ and also the singing. And the overall mix is
balanced and coherent. Excellent!

Wow, thanks very much enroe, ha ha, your reply is very observative and certainly the most profound I've had as of yet. Very kind words, the kind that strokes the ego.
