Default Multiple midi faders controlling track volumes

I was about to do my first fader automation with my 12 channel Faderfox MX12,
and went to right click the volume fader thinking it would have a midi learn switch .. somewhere... no

How does one quickly assign various midi faders to control multiple audio tracks volume. (for recording automation)

(My FaderFox is control enabled in Midi devices prefs)

This looks more like a "Control Surface Integration" (manual control) than like an "automation" (unattended timed control) issue.

Hence you should search the forums for keywords like "Control Surface Integration", "Learn", "feedback", ...

BTW.: editing an automation curve with a device that does not feature motorized faders does not seem like a good plan to me (not an expert on this).

BTW/2: why is this device so expensive (regarding e.g. an X-Touch Compact with Motor faders for roughly half the price ?

Michael, I don't need motorized faders at all.
More things to break

I suppose what I am asking for is the same as a midi keyboard having sliders that can be assigned to track volume.

So working method is record multitrack automation pass using sliders / faders.
Adjust any refinements with a mouse.
- or maybe re record a particular tracks automation.

My searching gets me nowhere - The Reaper search engine is not my friend.

You can connect a midi control to a channel fader or pan by using the Actions window. Type in 'track 1 vol' and select one from the actions, the click 'add' and move the control. Repeat for other controls.

One limitation is in bank switching the controls. If you have only 8 controls on the surface, you are limited to only controlling 8 tracks. A workaround is to switch midi channels for other banks. When you map the control using Actions, the midi channel is also recorded.

For example:
Midi Chan. 1: Faders 1-8 control Reaper tracks 1-8
Midi Chan. 2: Faders 1-8 control Reaper tracks 9-16
Midi Chan. 3: Faders 1-8 control Reaper tracks 17-24
etc.

Glad to be of assistance.
Don't forget to export the settings in the actions window & save the file where you can find it again.
