Just posted this in 5.91rc1 but see this is up. Apologies for redundancies:

-----

FYI -- I just noticed a hang on plugin scanning with 5.91rc1, and I also just tested it on 5.91 that was just posted.

The hang occurs when Reaper x64 (Win 10 Pro) is run with "reset configuration" from startup, and it forces a rescan of everything -- and Reaper hangs on scanning iZotop Nectar 2.dll.

I loaded the task manager, and it shows AuthAssistant.exe as Reaper is scanning Nectar 2 and hangs.

Attached is a screenshot.

https://forum.cockos.com/attachment....4&d=1527959110

The workaround is to force quit the application, then reload Reaper normally, and it continues the scan. Then seems to work normally.

Yup, I don't see it there either... maybe they're compiling a 5.91v2?

It'll be back, slightly updated, shortly -- EpicSounds pointed out a big ReaSurround memory leak that made sense to fix before releasing this version.

It's almost certainly unrelated to anything in this version.

Yeah, makes sense. I've just reinstalled Nectar 2 after a long time of not using it, so I would have no idea when this behavior started. Plus I moved my authorization to iLok, so who knows if the AuthAssistant.exe is related to that too. I'll play with it more and make a bug report in another thread.

At least we know that killing the process, then restarting Reaper seems to resolve it fine for now.

+ MusicXML: import files with .musicxml extension as well as .xml

For a minute I hoped this meant I could import Cubase XML files so I tried ...

Worst of all when trying to import Cubase XML it tells me it is not a MusicXML file, then hangs Reaper completely leaving me to ctrl-alt-del my way out.

I believe Reaper could exit from this file incompatibility in a more stable way?

Windows 10 fully updated.

Yes: it's a bugfix for scripts and extensions such as SWS.

+ Guides: optionally do not draw horizontal guides when moving items

Devs! The exact opposite option would be super useful and surely take negligible effort.

𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴

There is currently no indication of the currently selected track in the Arrangement area. The slight tint in the track panels could be extended out into the Arrangement area (esp. on 4k monitors where there are a million tracks on screen) through Horizontal Guides for the currently selected track(s).

(or tinting the same way as the Track Panel! But guides would achieve the same thing)

Please consider this super simple tweak, there's definitely support.

Concerning the laggy CC lane dividers:
this seems only to happen, when more than 1 lane is shown.
