I checked "remix_os-12.03-amd64.iso". For me it works. Booting from usb-flah, then start and stop jack as a root (Root JACK Ctl), then I can start Reaper with ASIO.

Same here, it is working fine with my Delta & SB !Live 512, but I DO get similar when trying to use the built-in MB chip....

I donated a small sum of $ 15. Currently, the currency of my country (Brazil) is undervalued. On another occasion I would donate a larger amount!
I'm anxious to test the 64 bit version, but I can not lower it by direct link. It seems to be Russian and not understand.
Downloading a torrent does not start the process, it is super slow.

Thanks for all the hard work on this distro!
I'm picking up a dedicated Remix computer next week, and have grabbed an RME card, so my Linux journey is about to begin.
My first challenge is that I get a 403 error when I try to download the remix manual. Any suggestions?
Thanks

You asked to print 6 digits in the enpty field. If you don't see big digits, click the grey link just right above the field to refresh. When done, click on the green button. It will open the next page with the link to the .iso file. Right-click on it and choose "Save Link As..." or use your download manager.

Will stay uploading for the next days. But I suppose that downloading via direct link could be faster for you.

OK, I know this will sound "anti-Remix-OS", but I am not happy with Reaper running under Linux-Wine. It works, but just don't feel as solid as Adour or what I am using the most, Audacity. So here is my question...
Is there a way to get your great OS WITHOUT Reaper or Wine? Over the last 2 months I have used it as-is, and have found it to be a very stable desktop OS that is configured with everything I need. I would just like to clean out all the wine based stuff & have a pure Xfce-Linux desktop.
I have tried removing the stuff, but seem to break it every time, so after 3 tries I figured I would ask if there was a easy way to do it WITHOUT breaking the system.
Again, Reaper runs & works OK in the distro, I would just like a clean Remix OS to use.....

Reaper installs in just one folder, easy to delete.
Also, the .wine folder can be deleted as well.
You can use a package manager to easily uninstall
wine. What is it that 'breaks'?
run htop, or command ps ux to see if wine starts up
anything you were unaware of.
The whole purpose of open-source, defies the concept of 'pure'.
The idea is to share code, improve it, and avoid reinventing the wheel. In wildest dreams, does xfce team not (wisely) exploit available code resources? Same with ardour, audacity
etc etc. I hope they do.
I'm not sure how software can feel 'solid'. It works,
or fails, is fast or slow, has features or bugs, or lacks them.
Anything specific that's annoying about using reaper?
It's been a stable, enjoyable, and extremely helpful daw
for a long long time, not worth deleting just to save 32 meg...
Cheers

"Anything specific that's annoying about using reaper?"
In the REmix OS it flakes out when using loops & trying to tempo match them.
The GUI gets REALLY sluggish when working fast.
It never keeps my links to my VST-VSTi folders, Loops Drive, or Reaper Audio folder (where I save my projects)
This is ONLY in Linux, not in Winblows.'
And it is moot anyway, since I am now using Mint Linux 13/Maya, and it is working fine...

Fast track pro doesn't work
Hello
I have problems whit M-audio fast track pro in Remix_os. It won't work. Alsa mixer doesn't recognise fast track pro. In QJack settings is fast track pro devices but if I choose them i'll not get any outbut or input in Reaper. I use 64 bit version of your Remix_os.
Here is some more info:
here is aplay -l output:

/rpc/asound/cards files output

Hope you can help.

dual display fail
Wow, remix is great, it works out of the box with a RME hammerfall!
One thing is not working properly, though: I jave a dualhead setup. I can configure it nicely with RandR. But when I reboot, all the settings are lost, leaving me with just one mirrored monitor with low resulution instead. That is a real bummer. Can anyone tell me how to change this in a simple way? What is the use to be able to make any adjustments anyway, when they are not stored by the system?

There is a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf in some distros, that can be edited.
The name/location may vary a bit from linux to linux.
On some newer linux, it is neutered, and must be copied/edited based on
some earlier example. You can set up a usbstick install to practice on,
google often holds some examples, if the keywords are accurate.
Good luck!

Just try by yourself. Make a live USB stick and give it a go. KXStudio works as a charm running on RAM and AV Linux is light, fast and rock solid if you can live with LXDE. Reaper can be easily installed in those two systems too if you make persitence USB sticks.
I currently use KXStudio installed on disk and AV Linux as a take away live OS to boot on any computer. Haven't tried Remix OS yet, but it's in my to do list.
Regarding the usual Ardour/Audacity team. Personally, I work way faster and smoothly on Reaper. Way more fluid workflow. Better than on those two. I keep dreaming about a native Reaper Linux version. The usual complain about those trying Linux for audio or noob switchers (like me) is they miss the VST arsenal. I don't miss VTS plugs that much. I'm fine with Ladspa and mainly LV2. Nevertheless, I miss Reaper so much when I work on Ardour, Mixbus or Audacity. But I have to say that the Ladish and Cadence concepts are just stunning. Something that Win and Mac users can only dream about. (Jack is available for Mac and Win).
But to tell the whole story. You cannot fully drop win and/or Mac for the final steps. I keep using Samplitude on Win for final masters and Wave editor for DDP export on Mac. I want to try this whatsoever.

usb midi not working in remix os
Hi,
I just purchased reaper and have been testing on Windows and Remix OS. I have Remix OS on an ASUS netbook with Ubuntu Studio 64 bit on it as well. I can record audio and use the virtual keyboard to get midi in but I am unable to receive midi in using an external keyboard with a USB midi cable. I tested this with Ubuntu Studio and I can get USB midi with Qtractor so I know the set up is OK. I have enabled midi port in Reaper but still no sound. And even tried using Reset in midi preferences.
Is there a missing driver in Remix OS that is needed to use a USB midi cable? If so, how can I install this?
Many thanks for providing Reaper with a Linux distribution.
cheers,
gaiamuse

Hi Remix,
I would like to try to download those files but it seems like i need a short tutorial on how to download. Even with google translate, it seems like i need to take a survey. Thanks for any advice.

Hi, reapercurious,
You have to type 6 digits in the field below and click on the small green button, that says "Скачать".
On the next page you will see a blue link to the ISO file.

Brand name usage
It's been a long time I stop working with Remix_OS project and even forgot about it.
But some time ago I have found that:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remix_OS
http://www.jide.com/mini
So, the question is: can I get a compensation from that Jide Technology for using the name of my OS and making money with it?
