Snap grid bug
Hello!
I'm experiencing a snap to grid bug.
Been seing this in many projects.
Workaround: Setting grid to 1/16 or something
v5.1pre1c x32 win 8.1 x64
(not prerelease-related I believe)

Notice how the midi-item-lines and the grid is wrong:

New project, pretty little going on
and same bug.
Only now I even can't get the workaround to work.
Fix please!

Can't replicate, not even with your project and the same snap/grid settings.
MCU_Klinke extension was reported missing from my setup. Reaper 5.1 rev 4ff7e5

Thanks!
Well,
I've had this for some years now I believe.
When I have to manually enter beat-position for markers to get a time-selection I need, then it's kind of cumbersome..
I believe it has something to do with the handling of the tempo-line.

I had this problem before. Don't expect it to get fixed! ;/
Reaper has some seriously buggy code! I've been having all kinds of weird problems with time signatures and such.
I had a series of items with about 3 seconds of gaps between them and a time signature change. As I moved the items across the time signature the gaps changed drastically and "randomly". As I dragged it back an forth(without letting go of mouse button), the gaps got bigger and bigger.
Reaper needs a total rewrite of some of it's code. Most of the problems I experience are gui related.

There was an odd extra snap "position" after each tempo marker somewhere between beats, but snapping to beats still worked normally. I'm not familiar with the tempo line's operation so I just assumed that was normal.

Ok,
well, I believe consensus here on the forum is that Reaper is very well coded.
But, that doesn't mean there are no bugs..

G-Sun,
Looking at your vid, I think I spotted the problem.
When you first extend your item it appears to be snapping to the play cursor,
so maybe try setting the play cursor to 0 or to a grid division before extending the item.

Thank you,
but I've checked that out for linked project.
But, I'll double-check.
btw: The play-cursor is probably there because of the bug.

This appears to be a bug that occurs when snapping to a time position that follows a linear tempo transition when the previous tempo marker does not fall on the grid. Could you confirm that that is the only circumstance where it happens?

Well, sort of.
In th project above, I'm able to land on:
4.1
5.4
6.3
7.2
7.3
Not:
6.1
6.2
I was wondering about if odd/even had something to say,
but I don't really see a conclusive pattern.

On a newer version of the project
https://stash.reaper.fm/26138/Fred2.RPP
the only place I can't land is:
3.1
From v1 to v.2 there has been changes in tempo and time-sigs.
Thanks!
