Default Media item peaks bug

This option in the Color Theme preferences has no effect.

Unless I'm not understanding what this option really is this picture says it all.

peaks should be redish in the loop according to the option.

instead what is happening is that the background gets this color. *edit* When it is selected and is in the loop.

Justin is this a misnomer and this is what you intended? Or is there a bug here?

BTW,

This is what I think should happen as far as peaks and background in the loop, and or being selected.

This is a Vegas screen shot.

There are a lot of choices in the Reaper color theme. Too many I think. This scheme makes more sense where you have a global background color, a loop color, and individual track colors, and the selections are permutations of that. I will makes another thread for a FR.

In fact! I just discovered! Reaper does do something similar if you assign a custom color to a track. Here the item is selected.

I don't like that the waveforms simply become the background, it would be more usefull (and visually pleasing) if the peaks were colored in a shade of the track color when selected. This way if you have different items selected across multiple tracks, the waveforms are not all the background color.

This might seem slightly trivial but things like this are important when it comes to editing. I've been trying to set up a color schemm that works for me while editing in Reaper. Looks like making tracks custom colors is the closest I can get.

It's not just eye candy. I can actually tell whats going on there. In reaper I'm having a liitle trouble with this. I know I'll get used to it, right now I can't find a color scheme that atuully makes sense and is easy to work with.

bump again

++1 for the Vegas method of coloring tracks. I'm not a big fan of how Reaper flips the waveform / track background colors when selected. These Vegas screen shots are very easy to read and you can instantly tell what's going on.

Ugh... I hate when that happens. And I saw where you said that you were going to add an FR but couldn't find it when I looked. I keep trying to help out an FR for larger toolbar / transport icons (http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7863) and it just keeps slipping away.....
