Default Shattered Glass Audio - SGA1566

Anybody using this on their MASTER bus?

I've been playing with it this weekend and enjoying what it's doing to the mix immensely, but concerned about how it seems to be shaving all peaks off both channels on render. It seems to be acting like a limiter - but the description says "based on a single channel vintage tube preamplifier". I must be missing something.

Anybody else notice this?

Thanks..

I really like what this is doing for my overall sound - but very concerned about the 'limiter like' processing it's doing. I guess I'll have to decide if it's worth it.

Try running the SGA in parallel to the 'clean' buss to keep the dynamics and add the thickness and harmonics you want:

- send the entire 'clean' bus to a second bus with SGA1566 inserted ('SGA bus')
- drop the clean bus fader to zero
- check settings on the 'SGA bus' until you like the sound
- bring the clean bus fader up to normal (perhaps 3db under normal)
- blend the SGA bus fader up until you like it.

Note the 3db under normal reflects the fact that when you duplicate a track you gain +3db in level just from the duplicate. Dropping the clean fader 3db allows a bit of headroom to blend in the SGA.
