Drag an envelope SEGMENT horizontally [SOLVED - Razor Edit!]

Hi,

When I grab an envelope segment, I can drag it vertically, but NOT horizontally. To do that, I have to select the segment's points individually, then grab ONLY one of the points and drag left or right.

Is it possible to drag envelope segments left or right in time?? Seems quite a large oversight if not.

It's not so very hard to marquee select the points delimiting the segment, surely?

Otherwise, Automation Items may be what you need?

Although the problem is not selection of the points (rather dragging them horizontally once selected), I would love to know how to set up a mouse modifier to marquee select envelope points! It's not among the options for left drag in the envelope lane actions.

That is ~five extra steps, so trying to avoid that.

Right drag?

And then move all selected by dragging one point (as you know). Or (by default) move (selected) points left & right is bound to NUM-4 and 6

No you can't move the segment horizontally. I've tried it in Ableton and it's very useful.
It was in my list for a feature request, but feel free to make one if you want and I'll support it

It is possible if you grab one point on the outside of the segment. Careful of your snap settings as they can apply as well.

this would be a a good use for a razor edit, or even an automation item.

There's also a mouse modifier to lock movement for envelope points to one direction.

Yeah but that's different. Another thing to drag by the point and another by the segment and move to any direction.
