Jumping at Shadows
My last band recorded this old Duster Bennett blues song a few years ago on a Neve console but this track was rushed and the guitar tracks were out of tune. I've kept the Drums, Organ Bass and Vocals and recorded my own guitar tracks in Reaper and mixed it.

Beautiful performances all round, Barry!
Love your guitar phrasing, and your vocal delivery is top notch.

Well thankyou! I'm a bass player and any praise for my guitaring is as welcome as it's unexpected.

Nice work. For three and a half minutes it connected, for me, now with 1968.

Really well done. The guitar gave me the "sleepwalker" vibe. I love understated leads that have feeling in each note/bend. Less is more sometimes. Vince Gill is one of my favs. Your fills fit perfectly.
What's your vocal chain? It sounds great.
the only thing I might have added is a touch of falsetto at the very end "about my life.....ooooooooohhhhh". something like that.

Great vocals. You sing really good on slow blues and ballads.
I would like the rythm guitar to be louder.

No all my own work but Macca was an early influence. Glad you liked it.

Aaah the Golden Years of the sixties. I feel blessed to have played even a tiny part in the "beat group" revolution that literally rocked these isles in those days.

What's your vocal chain? - The chap with the Neve desk had built an echo chamber in part of his wine cellar and there's a touch on there plus the following:
Kjaerhuis Classic Reverb (tiny bit)
VOC-EQ PRO
Limiter No 6
the only thing I might have added is a touch of falsetto at the very end "about my life.....ooooooooohhhhh". something like that. - I think that might have been gilding the lily but vocal expression is so personal to each of us. In this instance I think the song is so well written that it needs little in the way of embellishment just feel which I tried to give it.

Hi Mik it's my cobbled together rhythm playing, trust me you don't want to hear it any louder!

Out of respect for Mikael's ears and ability I reworked the guitar arpeggios by duplicating the track and panning several degrees left and right with a tad more volume. I think he was right....
