Default 200ms MIDI latency when using VST plugins (SOLVED)

Hello everyone,

I get 200ms latency when trying to play VST instruments using MIDI/USB keyboard. I am using an ASIO driver with 256 samples buffer at 48000Hz. If I record MIDI or audio data directly the latency is less than 6ms.

I've tried to adjust the buffering settings, but it didn't help. Does anyone had a similar problem? Is there any way to get rid of this problem?

I tried and it doesn't work. I also tried "Disable media buffering for tracks that are selected" and also different settings on the "Anticipative FX processing" or reducing buffer size to 0. I am getting a feeling, that those settings have no effect on actual FX buffering behavior.

I am using the newest version of Reaper on Win7 x64 computer. Could it be some kind of bug?

Do you have any plugins with delay running as Monitoring FX (View -> Monitoring FX)?

Thank you Dstruct, this was not exactly the case, but you gave me a hint. The problem was using effects on master channel. After disabling them the latency disappeared!
