Default Zoom in - Zoom out

I see those who give tutorials on YouTube quickly "zoom in" and "zoom back out" when they want to show a close up of the detail of the subject that are teaching, close-up of a section of track for example.

How do you do that? Can't find an answer to this.

Thank you,
Wayne.

Hi Wayne and welcome ...

REAPER has a whole heap of keyboard shortcuts for zooming in and out of various things. For example:

Ctrl PgUp zoom to time selection
Ctrl PgDown zoom out to entire project.

If you open the Actions list (Actions menu) and enter zoom in the filter box you'll see them all.

You can create your own toolbar and add your favorite zoom actions on to it.

What I found very helpful is to set keyboard shortcuts for this two SWS commands:

SWS/wol: Options - Set "Horizontal zoom center" to "Mouse cursor"
SWS/wol: Options - Set "Horizontal zoom center" to "Edit cursor"

So I can easily zoom under the mouse cursor (with the mousewheel), when I want to. Or to the edit cursor again, if this fits better.

But the shortcuts for these have to be made "global".

And I have shortcuts for:
view: zoom to project
view: zoom to time selection
view: toggle 'zoom to selected items'

I don't know the exact command definitions for the last three ones, because I use the german language pack.
