Default Using Shift or Ctrl modifier for selecting items

in Samplitude I can select an item, for example on track one and then if I Shift click select an item on say track 10 all items in between are selected. Plus if I want to select individual items I can use the control modifier and just the items I click on will be added to that selection. It possible to make this selection process similar in Reaper? Thanks.

If if remember correctly this might already be the default behavior for Preferences > Editing Behavior > Mouse Modifier:

[Media Item] [left click]

Shift: Add a range of items to selection ...
Ctrl: Toggle Item Selection

Keep in mind that there's also a different Mouse Modifier for [Media Item Bottom Half] [left click].

So depending on where you click on the Item (top or bottom half) you can trigger different Mouse Modifier Actions ...
