Default ReaFir subtract causing echo

I've just recorded a podcast but got a horrible amount of noise from the PC and fans etc.

My last podcast was, initially, denoised in Audacity but I've switched to Reaper and need to get rid of the noise.

I've tried building a noise profile in Reafir and use the subtract option, and it seems to have removed the noise, but the vocals now sound awful and include some echo... almost like being in a box.

It's a 45 minute podcast and I'm pleased with the content so would rather not retake it (my space options are limited so this is the quietest place I have anyway).

Suggestions welcome.

EDIT: I think my recording level was too low. I'm going to have to rerecord it... time to look for somewhere else, I guess.

Once you get the noise spectrum captured in ReaFIR, listen while holding Cntl, click on the spectrum curve, and drag it up or down.

Down subtracts less, up subtracts more.

Listen for minimum artifacts from noise removal.

Thank you.

I ended up retaking it in another room using my Macbook Pro (it rarely uses its fans) as the signal to noise was just too close.
