Default Reasamplomatic lists

Hi, I am following Kenny Gioia's "Creating a live drum kit" tutorials.
I imported different samples with different volumes in a ReaSamplOmatic5000 list.
I am using the virtual keyboard and it always plays back the sample sample, the last one. There is no way that by pressing the key with different velocities it plays back different volume samples. Is this becasue I should use a real MIDI keyboard?
Thanks for all the help

Right, you need a velocity sensitive MIDI keyboard. The computer keyboard and mouse buttons are not made to sense velocity.

Or, you can edit the track in the MIDI editor after you it. Then you can specify the velocity of each note and see exactly how ReaSamplOmatic5000 responds to different velocities.

FWIW, the virtual keyboard should give you different velocity if you click towards the "back" (low vel) or the "front"(high vel) of the key
