Default New old school '77 stuff...

So we resurrected the old band from 1977 and recorded some new stuff that I mixed, using Reaper, of course. This is one result, that sort of tries to sum up the current world situation...

Comments are welcome. More of x in the intro? Less of y on the vocals?

The lyrics are in Swedish, but at the end you anyway get the idea :-)

Excellent! Fantastic energy and love the aggressive bass tone.

The synth swoops (or processed guitar?) are a nice update on the 77 style. The vocal seems to be very close to pushing into distortion at times, so if you've got a compressor on it, you might try backing that off a little and using volume automation to keep it up front.

I'm curious - did you guys record to a click track or do any quantization in post production? I have some projects where I'd like to achieve this kind of consistent energy throughout a song, but making the band play to a click always seems to take some of that away. Your track starts with a solid groove and keeps it going.

Thanks people.
I'm glad you like it

No, there was no click track or any post quantization. We just have a bass player that is rock solid and drives us on.

The synth swoops are just that, noisy synth with me turning the filter frequency knob.

The vocals are by intention heavily saturated. There are three instances of JS:Saturation in series on the vocal track, probably that is what is heard as distortion. The singer likes it that way
