I like this theme alot. Unfortunately, I cannot use it because I like to have the mixer attached with the capability to drag the borders of it and shrink it to the size that works for my screen. Right now the mixer goes all the way up to the top. I don't like using the mixer unattached either, it gets in my way when editing tracks. Other than that, very nice!!!

Try using screensets. #1 for editing, #2 for mixing.

Even better
Use Action : View Toggle Mixer
Put this on your toolbar and you can have a full fledged mixer when ever you like. It always comes back at its last set size.
I use screensets as well for Arrange / Inspector /Media Explore views /
By the way having the screenset preference on a toolbar saves a lot of time experimenting with different layouts.

Wow - this is a fantastic looking theme - many thanks Nick.
Is it me, or could dragging a zoomed in video be less jerky? Its like its snapping only in bits of the clip.
But a minor issue over the whole delightful look.
Cheers

Nick, this theme looks fantastic, this is your yet another masterpiece! I'd love to use it daily, however it lacks some elements that are important in my work:
- volume and pan controls in TCP
- sidebar mixer layout
- separator mixer layout
- smaller (shorter) mixer, so it fits in the bottom of the window (I use a single 27" monitor and the mixer takes almost a half of the height of the screen - without inserts and sends)
I understand that you made ReaBorn to suit your needs and I respect that you share your work. Maybe someone will make some mod of this beatiful theme and add the features I mentioned...

you can use the "blank" layout for a seperator
OR
copy the "blank" folder. rename it "seperator" > go to the walter text file > find the "blank" mcp layout > replace the word blank with seperator twice on top line > delete all info except for top line, size and bottom line (you can change the width for a slimmer seperator) > save document > add a track to session & choose seperator layout > grab handles for inserts and sends and drag to very top of screen > save as a track preset.
you now have a seperator that stretches the length of the screen

Unfortunately I have no such screen, so I can't check out this issue...

I know the solution to my problem, but can't do it myself.
I need the Track Title font to be white, in your theme "Track Panel Text" changes the color of the track number only. That's the main difference in the legibility between the two themes.

EpicSounds, that stuff will be in the rtconfig file, it's either tcp.label.color or tcp.trackidx.color can't remember!

I'm with you. Once I saw that, I realized the theme wasn't for me and it went into the trash heap. I realize different people need different things, and I need to be able to control things from the TCP. I actually don't use the mixer that much, since I'd rather draw envelopes than ride faders - I find it more accurate and straightforward. For the times that I do want to use controls, the TCP is where I go because I may not even have the mixer open.
For those that exploit the mixer more fully than I, I can see how it would be nice to keep the TCP to a minimum, so they'll certainly enjoy this theme.

Thanks for sharing this. No Volume on TCP is not a problem for me, I don;t mix in Reaper.

Used it for two hours. Good impressions so far. Easy to locate stuff I needed.
To me, the cleanest TCP for small tracks yet. I've never seen an overview of a session this good. Check out this shot:
Also, the best meters on the MCP for me yet. I'm having a good time with this theme. I'll try to work with it on a small effects editing gig tomorrow to see how it goes.
Btw, I NEVER use the TCP sliders, because I use a control surface when mixing. If it's mixing-by-mouse it's the MCP for me. Overview, up/down motion for the faders, easy access to all controls. So this theme strikes a note with me.

Thanks for this excellent theme.
I could sure use a tcp with a volume knob when working on a laptop. If you ever do this layout, please don't change the original as it's perfect for a bigger screen. When I mix using a monitor that has a better resolution I never touch any of the tcp controls.
BTW: The MIDI outputs are not showing correctly on track sends.
I can't see any text that tells me where I am sending the MIDI.
Check the left track that is sending MIDI to output called "Left Rack"
http://filter303.kuvat.fi/kuvat/synt...di+problem.jpg
Monitoring track send is showing normal as you can see.
Is it possible to get this fixed? Pretty please

Ok, the effects gig went rather well, though one visual aid was too tame for me. The automation buttons. The text is fragile and the colour is difficult to see, as I needed to study that area of the screen much harder to find out what automation mode the track was in.
If this is a 0.01% complaint, I'll just mod the areas myself. They are too much in the background to be of good use to me though, so one way or another they'll change. I'd probably do a full background colour thing ala Protools, which would be the easy thing to do, i.e. copy what works elsewhere. This does not take away from the good view and zero editorial problems I had.

Nick: one sugestion with toobar icons...
if you have into theme folder toolbar icons with the same name than into reaper/data/toolbar_icons folder then you get universal buttons...themes with toolbar icons into own theme folder get the toolbar icons from own folder, themes without toolbar icons get from data...
if names are equal then you can change themes without toolbar icons changes...

Side bar
Just hacked a sidebar layout.
https://stash.reaper.fm/10893/sidebar.gif
You need to make the idx_bg's the same as the track_bg's
Note : You could use this hack instead of the folder start hack
Hope this helps .....Thanks..............
Code:
Layout "color strip - vertical meter" "color_strip_vertical"
set tcp.size [200 100 178]
set tcp.trackidx [20 0 180 100 0 0 1 1]
set tcp.trackidx.margin h<47 [-15 0 -15 0 0 0]+:w:1 [0 0 -1] +:h:1 [0 -1] [-15 29 -15 0 0 0]
front tcp.trackidx tcp.recarm tcp.recmon tcp.label tcp.fx tcp.fxbyp tcp.mute tcp.solo tcp.env tcp.io
tcp.volume.label tcp.volume tcp.pan.label tcp.width.label tcp.pan tcp.width tcp.fxin tcp.recinput ;
EndLayout

This really is a very good theme!
Very well done!
Really!
Worked 2 days with it and I love it!
Though I could need an even bigger "Meter-layout", like an extended layout.
Sometimes I set up my amp for recording and need to see the meters from quite some distance.... ok, maybe I need some better glasses, ok..

I agree strinxx for the same reason, but also because i like mixing with long faders for finer resolution.

This is totally doing it!
@Nick
Well, I don't necessarily "need" it, but it's really handy if you are your own engineer and try to read what's going on on your monitors.
I mean this is a really BIG layout, it wouldn't have to be that fat/ wide.
But the height is great!
Big thanks to you guys!!!

Hehe. I gotta try this big layout. I was recording some foley yesterday, and really wished I had an ARM button on the big-meter TCP layouts.
Thanks for sharing Tim.

haha, no I don't at all - was pretty tongue-in-cheek
Here you go strinx if you want it normal width (replace these lines):
set mcp.size [88 370]
set mcp.trackidx [1 356 85 13 0 1 0 1]
set mcp.label [1 337 85 18 0 1 0 1]
set mcp.meter [6 5 75 302 1 0 0 1]
