My new PC isn't set up as a Dev machine and my old laptop (which I used for building before) is 32bit. Besides, I never built for x64, I don't know whats involved.

I just liked seeing 1.0 on the screen, and didn't think I was going to do any more with it! Sorry for the confusion.

Please could you try re-downloading the plug-in as the first step (maybe clear your browser's cache before downloading it as well, just to make sure you get the latest plug in.) It should fix it.

If not, I am afraid I no longer have a Dev machine to work on, but RuairiAU, if you have a machine you can build for x64 on, it was a small fix - it was just missing:

'if (m_midiout)'
from
'void OnTrackSelection'
and
'void SetSurfaceSelected'

I hope that helps!
OK not at my machine right now but will check out in the next hour.
Thanks!

I down loaded the latest and it seem to solve the problem!
I get a whole new behavior with a warning message upon boot up, when maximizing from the task bar and even when shutting down.

"Control Surface:error opening MIDI inputs outputs"
I turn the warning mesage off an all is good.

Here is more on the version number:
Within Reaper the control surface is called out as (dev3.3) <= is that your revision number? if so you might want to advertise or document it.
When checking the dll properties ( via right mouse click on the dll itself) I see no version. That was my original comment which was to added it into the version number that show up when checking file properites.

Thanks you Both very much for the great support!

Hi Can I just say thank you for this plugin. I've only just purchased and alphatrack and it's great.

My Only dislike is I prefer the way the forward and rewind button work on the Novation with Padre's plugin. I think this sends a ctrl + right arrow (or left depending) when in play so you can forward and rewind through the track easily and when in stop does the beginning - end mode.

I'll have to dig out my SLMkII and confirm what the difference is.

Everything else I prefer on the Alphatrack, thank you all so much.

You can set the alphatrack to assign the transport to action keys which you can choose yourself which may allow you to get back the old behaviour

Default RuairiAU..Nandy!! I will pay if you can do this! :)

Not that I wouldn't donate anyway (forgot if I have or not already and if you even accept them but..)

..Just a small config/txt file to be able to change the names of the midi assign A and B functions. (the ones when you double press pan or auto)

Then I could press it and have the 3 knobs for config A do:

1-Solo in front level

2-left pan

3-right pan/width (for reaper 4, very cool to have it like this)

and config B to do:

1-media explorer level

2-project bay level

3-metronome

If I could have an easy way to name these it would make all the difference

thanks!!!

Default BUMP :)

I hope you guys are all right? Seriously name a price! (within reason) as it just seems such a shame to have those assignable ones but no easy way to rename them. Now I have to stick stickers on my alphatrack

@musicbynumbers
Hey lad,
I haven't wrote software for this in a long time. I don't even have a dev environment on my new PC. I've just been having too much fun recording music. I'll try get something installed tonight and I need to figure out how to compile for 64bit. I have a fair idea of whats involved, just not done it yet.

I think the easiest solution would be to allow you to set custom names on the settings screen for each of these. It's not that difficult, I think I'll spend more time setting up the dev environment than coding.

As for money, no thanks. This is a free project and will remain free. Pay it forward

Sounds great! Hope you have luck with the 64bit version too

Having it as part of the control surface screen would be cool, to be able to name them and assign them to things like solo in front level and metronome level would help so much.

Anyway, what ever happens it's all good! Thanks again for considering it!

I've done the settings UI form. I'm kinda limited by space, so it's kinda crammed in there. I've also done the parameter saving/loading (mostly).

I got to stop for a bit and do something else, but I'll try get back on and finish it.

I didn't get a chance to get back to it last night, I'll get back to it tonight when I'm back from the office. It's frustrating as hell programming in c++, I don't normally use this language. So even the simplest of tasks can be quite cumbersome as I have scan the code to find examples of what I want to do, then adapt it.

Right now I'm having difficulty storing and retrieving text values from the settings screen. Every example provided uses numeric values. This would be trivial if I was programming in .net, but in c++, if you're not familiar with the standard libraries, it's a pain.

Now I'm feeling guilty!

Just started learning python so I'm no good to you yet but where's nancyC gone?

Anyway, no rush but looks like your close and this will hopefully help you too which lessens my guilt a bit!

All I can offer is my excitement and gratitude!

I got a quick 30 mins this morning to have a look at the code and fixed up the problems I was having with the saving/loading of parameters.
I've nearly got it; I'm just battling with my limited knowledge of c++.

OK version 1.1 (32bit) is up. I have no idea how to compile for 64bit. Have a go at it and tell me if it works for you.

On an x64 note, here's a 64 bit build that shows up in Reaper x64. Untested with a real life Alphatrack though cause my setup is out of action and I can't be arsed ripping it apart....

Thanks and thansk again for Captain caveman for doing a 64bit build for the other guys

Here's what I have found so far,

1-It works! but I found that the boxes have spaces already in them so when I put text in them the names didn't save or show on the alphatrack BUT after I deleted the spaces and put the text in again it worked fine

2-Ironically I seem to be having trouble with the actually CC sensitivity (job for nancyC?), I have tried all relative types but when trying to set them up for pan and width (since we don't have a width setting thought I'd make my own) but it just jumps between hard left, middle and hard right. It may be just those settings though, will try with solo in front and metronome level

@captain caveman
Cheers for that, I don't have much free time these days so there's not much chance of me getting the time to look into building on 64bit.

@musicbynumbers
It's a rough and ready build with no error checking or validation. My knowledge of c++ is limited to what I've learnt when I started updating this plugin.

I'll have a tinker with setting the width tonight, the values are generally between -1.0 and 1.0 (float) and increment/decrement in 0.01 steps (if my memory serves me), so it should work.

Cool, on further tests I think the pan and width maybe reaper's problem as assigning it to say tempo is pretty smooth with relative 1 mode I get about 5 bpm per turn and 1 bpm in smooth mode. This makes me think It may be reaper

No probs, if you like I can join the project to do the 64bit builds. I'll send you a message on Soundforge.

Thanks, it says that I am not a member of any projects though. My username is pabl0diabl0 (with zeros).
