Default MIDI timing issue.

Hey peeps! <3

When using external midi hardware (synths) I get extreme timing jitter.
I tried M-Audio FastTrack Pro with several cables (also those HiEndish
neutrikesque ones) on Arturia Microbrute, Dreadbox Erebus, Novation Bass Station, Roland Alpha Juno 2, Kawai K4, always just one single synth
connected to the midi output. Also the microbrute USB midi interface.
When sending 16th note sequences to the hardware, I notice extreme
"drunk playing" timing failure. How to deal with this? The bad timing
makes the midi output absolutely unusable for me.
When using a Yamaha QY100 I'm happy with the timing, but
programming makes my butt hurt.

Is there a workaround for the midi issue? Is it all about using
a midi interface, which is more compatible with reaper than others?
In older threads in this forum I read things like "USB has jitter issues"
but come on, if I can stream a data shitload divx movie from a USB harddrive
why can't I stream that little amount of midi data in correct timing?

Sorry for my stupid noob question. Have a nice weekend :*

Might relate to a lack of computer horsepower or something non-reaper interfering?
Pure guesswork, but TBH running MIDI to an external hardware synth is not exactly Reapers strong suit.
I still have ONE external synth and pretty much reserve it for live work, where I use a hardware sequencer to trigger the MIDI.

Hi,

It shouldnt be doing that. I use quite a few ext synths, AND the midi signals have to pass thru another computer, and i dont have that issue.
i would try and borrow a diffferent usb midi interface. Or get one from a store, try it, if it doesnt fix the issue return it. Motus are good.

OR.. i you sure your not sending out too much stuff by mistake?
For ex...using Reacontrol midi to send out volume and its set to all channels?
