It should, did you try it?

There's a free 60 day trial for Reaper, download it and give it a ride.

Thanks for the answer. I have used Reaper for some time now. I purchased a MIDI keyboard and Xpand came with it, but I´m having some kind of problem downloading it properly. What should I do to add this to Reapers plugin list? I tried to add it in Preferences, but it did not work.

Download the free Reaper manual. Read the section on installing plugins.

Alternatively, Copy the plugin to wherever you keep your other plugins - mine I put in a directory I made in C:\ Prorams\VSTPlugins.
Open reaper and go to the Options/prefs menu.
There you will find a sub menu item for vst plugins. Click on it, re-scan your plugin directory and Reaper will pick up on and ue anything you put in the path you are scanning. DO OT put it in the reaperplugins folder, this is exclusively for use with the built-in plugins that come with reaper.

But if you didn't already, read the manual, watch any and all video tutorials you can find on here and on Youtube. Kenny Gioia is highly recommended. Some of his are free but he also does an excellent series on www.groove3.com that you have to pay a little for.

It's all good

I've been using Xpand2 in Reaper for quite some time. Works just as expected!

I'm on Windows 8.1.

Thanks very much. Most probably I had some kind of trouble while downloading xpand. I did it again and now all the things work nicely.

Default Using Xpand!2 for play back only.

Hello, this is my first post and the reaper forums. I've been using different DAWs for about 20+ years, but have only been using Reaper for about a year, off and on at that. I finally decided to stick with Reaper.

1st things first, of course.
Intel dual core 2.5Ghz, 6Gb RAM
350Gb ssd: Windows 7 SP1 64 bit
350Gb ssd: project audio only
250Gb ssd: project data, sample library
Windows services optimized, no internet
M-audio M-track 2x2 @ 24bit, 44.1/48khz
All software is current versions
32" LCD display and WT Imperial theme.

I'm using the xpand 2 plugin for play back of midi tracks, I do not use a keyboard controller. It's a little buggy. Kinda ghosts in the machine if you know what I mean.
I create a track, use Xpand!2 on an insert. I use 4 midi tracks to send midi to Xpand2. I select midi>all and midi>channel 1-4. Should I select the green midi plug button there?
I get playback on channels 2-4, channel one appears to have an attitude. Maybe it will, maybe it won't.

I would really like to get the most out of this plugin. Any suggestions? Could someone walk me through setting it up? I'd like to get this right so I can make a template and GET ON WITH MY LIFE. Lol.

Thanks

Heyo-i can try to help.
Are you aware that you can use just 1 track with this vst-and 1 midi item--which can handle 16channels of midi?
Sending from other tracks works fine here--try send midi all>all (the little midi icon there sets the values to 127 midi range) see if that works any better for now.
What exactly would you like to know?
