I did one the of arrange as it is with V2c3 (a bit out of date I know) and then one with V2.3RC. You can see my TCP goes really small. Too small for me to work with unfortunately :-(

Also, when my toolbar buttons are selected, I find them quite hard to read :-(

Hope that's useful.

Edit: Just added toolbar pics for comparison
Thank you! Seems that I gonna create 150% layouts. Please e-mail me when you’ll had work done

Hi ! would be great if bpm text was displayed more vividly (just like "rate" or "selection bars" ). I'm using dark theme, Often I have to move close to the monitor to see the values. Unfortunately, I could not find where the colour of this text is regulated

Oh shoot I missed some of the discourse here. I'll do some testing with the beta and report back. I feel like that may effect me as I have a 4k screen and don't have windows scaling set to 200. I use the TCP mainly but I am not sure if it's the enhanced layout you have. I'll report back tonight, its early morning where I'm at. Thank you for your continued hard work at this. I love this theme!

Well at 200% it looks freaking beautiful

I'm just going to run it that way for the time being. I really wish windows had per app scaling so I could just make Reaper run at 200% but for now I'm quite content to just change to that. It seems like you are working on a 150% layout which is nice, that's the scaling I typically use in windows. I'm sure I'll probably switch back at that point but I just love the way this looks so much. Thanks for all your hard work!

yes, 150% layout is an important, and surprisingly to me that a lot of people use 150% scaling, so now i'm works with it

Personally, I don't use it, because it requires too much vertical space on my FullHD monitor.

Default Indent inconsistency

Hi @gapalil001,
I found a small discrepancy in the indentation of tracks in MPC

For TCP folder structure as below:

The corresponding MPC indentation is:

Whereas in this case, I think track 5 should be indented by one level, as in this mockup:

I almost never use the MCP, but if I were using the MCP I'd like to have the meterbridge option.

thank you! there is all fine on your screenshots. MCP brackets starts at folder track and finish at the last track, it's mean that bracket closes on the sides all tracks with the same output, includes folder track.

According to your 1st 2nd screenshot, track 5 are foldered in track 1, and placed at the same line with it, and that's fine.
your last screenshot means that track 5 output goes to the track 2. all you need is to navigate by the brighten lines: same line means the same output

Default IMPORTANT!

For retina/hidpi screens users: ALL future updates of Flat Madness will require REAPER 6.37 or above!

Great theme!

Media item label is impossible to read. Especially in dark edition.

[EDITED]
Thank you! Can you please send a screenshot? Also, this issue was discussed previously. If short - my theme is created to use item label above the item, or go to the preferences>media>draw labels over solid background for easier reading

Thanks for the reply.
After making the screenshots I realized it wasn't too bad...
Just to give you a sense what I consider good readability, I attached a screenshot of my current theme (Inquasar Dark Matter) , which I edited quit heavily.
Hope this helps.
Cheers & thanks again

3 quick things that came to mind:

First of all , the 'longname' layout setting for the track panel is just perfect. No other theme I know has this. Big props for that!

2nd: If you consider making the item label font a little bigger, you could at least make it as big as the media item buttons height. So no additional space is needed.

3rd: The dark version of the notation editor is too bright for my taste.
I attached 2 screenshots to demonstrate black background with colored notes.

thank you! longname layouts was requested by a few users and I had to create them.

As i said, my theme was created for using item labels above the items you can see it on the main screenshots and i I would like you to try this way. i had some fixes, but they create new undesired issues, and (as i know) there is no proper solution in REAPER theme engine for my subjective situation. Unfortunately, now i can't fit all great but you can fit it manually (see below)

about notation editor - yes, i will test it for the next update (basically it's will be minor update with a small bug fixes, nothing special) but in my taste white notes with black background looks a bit weird. but it's not a problem! these colors can by changed by user without any specific knowledges. all you need is go to action list>theme tweak/configuration window. above you can see the search string, then type "notation", and you will see all available colors to change (there is only 5 colors). basically, with this meny you can change the most of theme colors, includes item label colors and fonts. and don't forget to save theme as new!

I apologise if i upset you, but theme tweaker will completely fit your issues at 5 minutes!

Ah, ok. There was a misunderstanding.

That would be great. I know it's all a matter of taste.
I mainly prefer the black background because of readability. More contrast.

No need for apologies. I absolutely understand that you can't fulfill every wish.

I know how to edit the theme and I just could do it myself. Problem is that I have to do it all over again once you update the theme.

meterbridge layout is amazing , I switch to this layout very often ! Great for send reverb buses , It dramatically saves the space on my mixer-monitor.

Hello
Great work as always.

In v2.3, the pan are horizontal faders; how to get the circular knobs for pan on the TCP? - many thanks for your hard work

Thank You! this parameter can be changed with "default 6.0 theme adjuster.lua" script from action list. You can see detailed instruction at the bottom of the first post of this thread
Quote:
Default 6 Theme Adjuster Parameters:

Track Panel Meter Position
Track Panel PAN/WIDTH mode - sliders/knobs
Track Panel minimal FXList slot width
Track Panel FXList/Embedded UI's (if exist)
Track Panel Folder Record buttons on/off
Mixer Panel Folder Record buttons on/off
TCP show db scales on/off (needs theme refresh)
MCP show db scales on/off (needs theme refresh)

Transport orientation left/center/right

how to reach my theme settings in theme adjuster:

Suggestion for improvement:

Have the 'parent master send' indicator be uniform for all (folder and child) tracks.

At the moment, as far as I can tell, for a parent or standalone track, the parent master send indicator line is in the middle; for a child it is the line on the left.

This makes it unnecessarily confusing to know straight away which tracks are parent master send enabled/disabled.

I see, but when i did it, i knew what i did. this is the one of my favourite systems in my theme. for normal tracks, you have "fold" button in a completely usually place for most DAWs - left bottom corner. But if your track are folder track - you will see huge banner instead of record buttons with long name strip - it shows you that the track is folder now. To me - there is no reason (90%) to unfold the track, but if i need (very rarely) - that's extremely easy to do. there is no any chance to be confused with. or, if i understand something wrong, i would be glad for explanation with screenshots

Oops..

Flat Madness 3 suddenly released!

the first major redesign of Flat Madness ever.
Also, there is no more separated “4K” versions, now it’s all in one using 150 and 200 layouts

  1. a whole MCP is re-designed to being a bit more “REAPER” but rounded
  2. a whole TCP is re-designed to be more rounded and a bit more “REAPERish”. also some things are improved, especially for folder tracks
  3. layouts 150% and 200% are created for all layouts
  4. elements for 150% and 200% scaling added
  5. introduced behavior to force layouts 150% and 200% automatically according OS scaling, the same to default theme (requires REAPER 6.37+)
  6. added colored sliders layouts for TCP - grey, blue, pink, cyan
  7. transport default orientation switched to left
  8. default TCP pan mode switched to knob
  9. MCP master - RMS meter colors calibrated for -23 and -14 LUFS
  10. improved images in I/O window
  11. introduced auto-expanding of MCP panel when embedded UI of plugins are visible (requires REAPER 6.38+)
  12. when pan mode changed to “stereo pan” or “dual pan”, knobs becomes sliders
  13. grid lines becomes dark
  14. new splashscreen on project load

Been a fan of this theme since day 1. Looks clean, not cluttered yet practical and professional. The way it helps keeping me inspired as I work on my projects, can't thank you enough

Would you please consider adding an option to disable (or adjust the size of) the folders identation on the TCP?

Also, any special reason you ditched the minimal accent colors on tracks with the "solid color" layout? I was particularly a fan of that layout, it had the perfect balance, the default layout felt too colorful (leaving us with multiple variations of the same color).

One last suggestion would be to make the track background color the same for both even and odd tracks. Try it! It makes the theme look even cleaner! The track separator line does a good job already at helping you distinguish between tracks.

I really like the alternating background colour for odd and even tracks. Please don't get rid of that 🙏 Helps my aged eyes separate things out :-)
