Default Audacity into Reaper

Help please.
I have been trying to import some of my Audacity efforts into Reaper to polish them up a bit.
I have followed the advice about making the unrecorded first part of the tracks silent so when they are imported into Reaper they all start in the same place as in Audacity.

This does not seem to work. I have also just put an equal small part of silence at the start of each track and it still does not work.

Any ideas please?

Anton

Maybe try if inserting an extra Track in Audacity (with silence, white noise, a single tone, etc.) - which has the length of the whole project - makes any difference for export/import.
EDIT: after testing this: no it doesn't

Otherwise can you please post screenshots which show the Track alignment in Audacity and after the import in Reaper (to see what the difference is).
This way maybe other options come to mind ...

It looks like Audacity doesn't want to export any silent audio at the beginning of the tracks. (Silent as in there is no audio waveform/"item" at the beginning of the track.) I couldn't find any quick solution for the problem. (But I am not an Audacity expert.)

OK, I just did a quick test with the following steps in Audacity:

1) For each Track: select the empty area in front of the audio part and then ...
2) ... Generate > Silence
3a) Select a single Track and use File > Export Selected Audio
3b) Or use Select > All and then File > Export Multiple

The exported audio files are rendered with the (generated) silence at the beginning. So when importing them into Reaper here, the audio starts at the same position (as in Audacity).

EDIT: Keep attention in step 3 which parts, tracks, etc. are selected in Audacity before doing the export.
