Default Recording: Peak Display Problems

Recording: Peak Display Problems

1. If you zoom while recording, the peak-display becomes really weird (mosaic-style). Can we have the same smooth/fine looking peaks that we have after stopping the recording? see the attachment below ...

2. If you zoom in very much while recording, Reaper (Gui-redraw becomes extremely slow => hitting the CPU hard) - bad!

3. with "loop selection auto punch" enabled:

-> make a selection
-> place the cursor outside/after the selection
-> record

=> peaks won't get displayed/build while recording

4. disable record-arm at the track while recording => peaks get hidden (and get back when stopping recording)

5. "peak view gain" can't be adjusted during recording (SHIFT+Up/Down). would be great if we could do this!

Even without zooming the peaks are very different from what they get after stopping. A few times I thought it doesn't rec since the peaks during recording are so much smaller. Scrolling during recording updates the peaks a bit, but they're still smaller.

Another related issue is when recording to a muted track. The event is not greyed out until scrolling, and it will stil show the new recording in blonde (not muted view):

Yeah,

I had the same problem now. At the end of an looped recoding the peaks disappear as in dandruffs picture.

This is really bad beacuse, my singer had a very loud part at the end and it was important for me to see if its cilipping!

Please fix it!
