Only the changes listed in this changelog are present -- this represents mostly bugfixes from 5.78 but a few other additions too (but much of 5.79pre* is NOT in this release)

The problem remained, if the cursor is to the right of item, the empty field opens.

Expect more fixes on that side of things in 5.80pre1.

I never really had issues with the MIDI editor behavior, but I must say that when I tried this version today, the MIDI editor seemed smoother than before.

Almost like it was reading my mind about what I wanted to do, whereas before I felt like I kind of had to nudge it in the direction of what I wanted.

Kudos!

So if I get it well, this rc should be without the ara2 friendly vst handling overhaul, that caused issue with pre ara2 melodyne in 5.79 pres.

Iow, as far as vst handling is concerned, 5.79 release is same as 5.78...

Correct?

Thanks,
Mario

Default Question for Justin about the Multithread auto detect improvement.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for always trying to help push the envelope on what our processors can do. I noticed the ' Multiprocessing: allow autodetection of up to 32 cores/threads' addition to this prerelease and had a quick question.

I have two massive servers for composing. One has dual 8 cores (16 cores) and can process 32 threads with hyperthreading turned on. Should I select the 'Auto-detect the number of needed audio process threads' check box for this machine as Reaper can now see all 32 threads?

The second machine has dual 12 cores totally 24cores with 48 threads possible when Hyperthreading is turned on. First, is it possible to up the number of threads Reaper can Auto detect up to 48 instead of the 32? I'm assuming I should un-check the 'auto-dected' check box in buffer settings and type in 48 threads. Is that correct or should I type 24 even though I have hyperthreading turned on?

If there is anyone else on the forum that knows the answers I'm all ears but thought I'd pay a visit and respect to Justin, the man, the myth the legend.

If you have more than 32 threads with your CPU(s), disable auto-recognition and type number of cores manually. Type the number of logical cores, so in your case 48.
