Toontrack Drum Plugins with Reaper
I don't own EZ Drummer or Superior Drummer yet, but I'm wondering if the set tempo in Reaper will affect your complete song after you drag it into Reaper? They allow you to use multiple tempo changes within the plugin but I have no idea if they'll stay the same once you bring it into Reaper.

You can tell the EZDrummer VST plugin to set anything played to the tempo of the DAW in this case Reaper so yes you can or you can opt out. So to clarify if you had a part that was setup in EZDrummer as 72bpm and Reaper is 80bpm it will adjust the tempo up.
I can't speak for Superior Drummer but I think that would do the same but with its massive flexibilty of other environmental settings within it, I suspect may be overpowering to learn the ropes on.

Okay, so if you create the song using different tempos like in this video, Reaper will leave it alone if you decline, but if you accept will it adjust your main tempo at the beginning of the song or will it adjust all the parts?

If you drag your MIDI to the beginning of the Reaper timeline, then all of the tempo settings from Superior will be reflected in the Reaper timeline, including the "main tempo at the beginning of the song".
If you drag your MIDI to the middle of the Reap timeline, then Reaper will show the tempo of your original Reaper project until it hits your new MIDI, at which point, your Superior tempo settings would be adhered to. In such a case, you could change Reaper's original tempo to match that of your imported MIDI if desired.
I hope that makes sense.

EZ Drummer2
Hi, I would like to post a question here in the hope that it is similar to the theme being talked about in this thread. I have EZ Drummer2 and have a template up and running in a project. I have different songs in the project and the tempo changes per song work fine for me, but what if I wanted the drum set to change at the beginning of each song? Probably not feasible I presume? Thanks and cheers,

I`ve beta tested for them for years & never come across this one before, but it does seem like a useful thing to be able to do.
Can I suggest you go on the Toontrack forum or their sales & tech support section of their site and ask them?
I just posted a query on the beta forums section for both EZD and SD.

TT Tech says: In EZdrummer 2 you can use MIDI Program change but not in SD3.
Interesting - I had wondered about using MIDI program change... looks like you are OK in EZD but strangely, NOT in SD. Worth remembering that some of the SD3 kits can be a couple of hundred gigs!!! Could take half a minute or more to switch kits....

Ok, thanks a lot for the info. Unfortunately midi is not a strength of mine but I'll try and follow that up elsewhere. Cheers,

Adding a MIDI instruction is dead easy, really. A long time ago, I posted a link to a really good "MIDI basics" e-book in the MIDI etc., section of the forums...
