Default MIDI Volume Fade Out for MIDI Items

Allow the Media Item Fade In or Fade Out to control MIDI Volume for an item containing MIDI data.

This would be much quicker to do (one mouse click and drag) than setting up a fade out using track automation (many mouse clicks and drags), expecially when multiple items in one track are involved.

Currently, the Media Item Fade In/Out only controls the MIDI velocity for an item containing MIDI data. There could be a preference added which allows either MIDI Volume (or Velocity if it is really required) to be controlled.

Item fades control the volume of the item, which is pre-fader. Since MIDI itself does not have volume, only velocity, it's strictly up to the plugin whether items fades affect the velocity, and subsequently the output volume.

Velocity sensitive plugins will already use item fades to affect velocity, but plugins without velocity sensitivity will not. Since item fades are pre-fader, it's just not up to Reaper control track output volume in this way, though I admit it would be nice if it could be so easy.

Absolutely, what I had in mind was: make it possible to assign CC11, CC1, CC7 to the fade curve.

That could be possibly with script (IDK). But yea that would be a good idea; to be able to assign the fade to different CC. The OP should maybe ask for that instead.

That would really be awesome, if that could be scripted! As a feature in Reaper, it would of course even be better.

MIDI controller #7 is what I am referring to here. It is commonly known as MIDI Volume and is implemented by most MIDI hardware and software devices. It specifically affects the volume for all notes of the specified channel, which is very different to note velocity, which affects velocity for the specified note and channel, which may be assigned to whatever the device is setup to respond to note velocity, eg. note volume, filter frequency, etc.

Yea, it's a good idea. I think you should specify that in your OP.
