I noticed on a project I'm working on that region auto color does not seem to be working. This is under Win 8.1.

It seems to be working here, are you applying it by hand or expecting it to be applied automatically (if so, the option "Enable auto region coloring" has to be turned on)?

one small issue I had today (not super important):
the "Save Marker Set" dialog window doesn't close when re-saving a existing set to update it. It is saved when you press ok but then you have to click Cancel to close the window. or the x button. A message to confirm replacing the set could appear.

Strange, I've got "Enable auto region coloring" on. It works fine on my Win7 studio rig. I use name filters for my regions, and it is applied automatically. This is happening on my Surface Pro running 8.1. Auto track coloring works which makes this really strange. Thanks Breeder for the feedback, I'll keep digging to see if I can figure it out.

Region auto color stopped working with the v.4.7 pre-releases. Re-installed v.4.62 and it works properly again. Verified this on my Win7 studio rig also.

Yes, I too can verify now (I was using internal, unreleased version when testing, sorry). It appears it got indirectly fixed (https://code.google.com/p/sws-extens.../detail?r=1318) so it should all work normally in the next pre-release.

When I'm mixing an album project, I frequently copy tracks from project to project.
I know I could save the track as a template, but I'm never sure when I will or won't need to borrow some settings.

I have just dreamed up an extension that allows you to select an RPP file. The track listing is loaded and then you can choose which tracks you'd like to copy to the clipboard, which can then be pasted into your currently open project.

Is this do-able?

ableton has this in it's native browser. To say its beyond useful is an understatement....

It's in SWS snapshots. Have the two projects open, open the snapshots window in the one you want to grab the settings from. Save a shot of the tracks you want. Then right-click on it. Copy the snapshot. Open the snapshots window in the project where you want to import to. Right click in it and do paste snapshot and from there you get choices of which parts and where they're gonna go. Careful with large projects and envelopes apparently.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, unfortunately you misunderstood. The whole point of this FR is to avoid loading another project.
Even when loaded in recovery mode (all FX offline), it takes some time to load a 100+ track project then copy the settings across.

However, I didn't know about the SWS Snapshots, so thankyou. Perhaps this my suggested function could be rolled into Snapshots.

I think it miss something in autocolor track. I wish for children colored gradient with parent color and not only the global gradient color. So we could have much more colored track

would it be possible to make cycle actions appear right on top of the action list like custom actions, maybe with the prefix "cycle", so they appear immediately below the "custom" ones ?
Or, alternatively, just put them in the custom category, too.

Either way, keeping track / backing up of your set of non-stock actions would be much easier.

no the correct place is here: https://code.google.com/p/sws-extension/issues/list but don't worry you will only be shot with passive aggression, although your idea will probably be ignored if it's not in the right place.

Jeffos is quite busy now, you can add a prefix in cycle actions name like "CA:"

People working on SWS are working on this in their free time, we don't have the resources to fix everything immediately - that's why we always rather have things on the tracker (first google, now github). It's easier to track them that way.

Regarding cycle action names, I think you can name them any way you like, so putting prefix there should already be possible, no?

the best you can do is with a prefix like "--- ", putting you somewhere near the end of the "Action" category, at least it keeps the cycle actions in one place and gives you a search term, which " " doesn't.

Have you checked in your preferences that track and item colours are taken notice of?

I went chasing my tail because item colouring via ReaScript didn't seem to work, and then I found the issue was an option in my own Prefs.

I found with auto colour you have to type exactly on the track the same as you've typed in the auto colour box. eg= "Bass" in A/C but "bass" on track will not work.
Caught me out!!

not so. you dont even have to use the whole word in the list. e.g. i have "Ba" configured in auto-color, and "Ba," "ba," "bass," and "Bart simpson" all wind up the same.

make sure you guys dont have (children) or (any) up top or something like that.

You are quite right, I just tried the letter "b" & as long as the word begins with "b" you can write anything!,, even bloody silly!
