Default Newbie Question: Latencey

Hi there, B&Massa (from Australia) here, forgive me if this is a common question, but we've discussed the concept of distributed jamming over at MacIDOL.com quite a bit, and the issue of latencey, or the delay in transmission across a network, has always struck me as the bugbear with jamming across the world over the net. How serious an issue have you found this to be?

Looks like you guys are on a winner, anyway. Nice work.

Default Not a problem.

From an active user's perspective, it's not a problem, and really, it's a *feature*....let me explain....
Because there is a delay, adjustments to what you are playing tend to have to be more gradual in nature, to accomodate the group.
What that encourages is more *LISTENING* to what others are playing .

Quick spur of the moment transitions may not be done as well as looking at a person in front of you, but let me tell you....once you hop into NINJAM, you won't care.
REALLY.
HOP IN!!!!

Cool, thanks. I've had a chance to read a bit more of the info on the site and listen to some of the jams uploaded. It's an interesting approach to the problem, and it obviously works. I'll have to make the time to have a go when my broadband goes live. (only a few days now!)
