Default How to Print MIDI to audio tracks?

I'm unable to print a midi track to audio on another track. How do I set up the I/O between the 2 tracks so that I can do this?

Thanks!

Hi fastlanestoner,
you can use
1) Render function on the track, or
2) Apply FX on items, or
3) "record" (old-school) on another spare track.

To record track 1-"Synth" (which has MIDI clips and VSTi synthesizer) to blank track 2-"Recorded-Printed Synth":
- create send from track 1 to track 2
- on track 2 set recording options to Record: Output (stereo), Input: None
- record arm track 2
- set cursor on timeline to where you want to start play/record as audio
- start Record button, wait while required section is over, then hit Stop
- track 2 now has audio item with synth part recorded from track 1

Happy midireaping

I have 2 MIDI tracks, I just want to print them to audio tracks by playing them in real time. They are small pieces of the song, nothing more than 30 seconds total.

Use method (3) as described by akademie above for each track.

You'll end up with your 2 'MIDI' tracks and the 2 'audio' tracks.

That didn't work previously but I'll try again, maybe I missed something.

Thanks!

Any chance I could hear more about method #2? I'm trying to do something similar, and right now I'm using method #1 (which is working for me), but I'd really like something that doesn't require a manual step like recording or rendering. Method #2 would be ideal for me, as it's something that I could just have in a template for anytime I start a new project. Just as good would be something that I can set up where a MIDI track sends audio to a different track.

Basically when you have FX inserted on a Track or Item (Take), there are several Item > Apply track/take FX to items as ... menu options available.

In addition, these videos should also be helpful:
