Default Reaper is recording the 9th octave only on my Oxygen 88 midi controller.

Hello,

For some reason my Oxygen 88 midi controller has stopped function properly within Reaper. I have checked the midi output with a diagnostic tool and the keyboard is fine. Registering each key, sustain and release perfectly.

However, inside Reaper, the keyboard only registers Octave 9 when recording. It does not matter what octave I play in, whether its octave 1 or 4, when controlling Kontackt or UVI and even my freeware synths, it will only records the 9th octave.

I have unistalled Reason V as I originally thought that there was some sort of driver issue between the two daws. unfortunately that did not solve the problem.

I am at a bit of a loss. Something happened within the last month as the controller was working fine before hand.

Any help would be appreciated.

Everything shows up as the 9th octave or only that octave is recognized when played?

What diagnostic tool, and did it report the correct octave?

Other apps record the keyboard properly?

Happens in all projects or just one?

Hi, thanks for replying.

Everything shows up as the 9th octave, even when I play bass notes.

I used Midi OX, although now it shows only the ninth octave being played now.

No.

and it happens in all the projects.

Um, I might have a busted keyboard.

Are midi keyboard easily repaired?

I mean this might be too obvious, but you did try hitting the octave down button on your keyboard? They all tend to have buttons to transpose the octave up or down. Might be something in the settings, and not a dedicated octave switch, but that's the most likely situation.

What I meant with my first question was, are all keys recognized when you play them or only those in the 9th octave? I'm trying to figure out if all the notes are being forced into the 9th octave or everything else is being filtered out.
