I will report the bug and try to figure out a workaround.
Do you perhaps have any idea how this could have happened?
In the meantime, if you wiggle the left edge of the item, the invalid MIDI should update to correct positions again.

Thanks for checking it out! I hadn't even realized that's a thing. Looks like MIDI_InsertCC and MIDI_SetCC do not check against negative values. So it's quite likely one of my own CC scripts has a bug that has caused that stray event. I should be able to find it quite easily the next time this happens now that I know where to look. Thanks again, and thanks for so many awesome MIDI scripts! The multi tool is simply incredible.

Hi guys,
I just installed the multi tool but can't figure out how to find and use "Split or trim notes by drawing a line with the mouse"... Where am I supposed to find documentation about this particular feature ?

That script is named "js_Mouse editing - Slice notes". It comes with some instructions inside the script file itself, which can be read in ReaPack's browser, or in REAPER's own script editor.
(Warning: that script is two generations out of date, and I've unfortunately not had time to do any scripting lately.)

Hi Julian,
Ok, I gonna have a look at it and try to figure out how it works and if it's relevant to use it.
BTW thanks a lot for your huge work on reaper !

Here's a question for Julian:
Regarding the MIDI Inspector... is it even possible to add text input to it? Like, select some notes and you want to shift them by 10 ticks to the right, you'd click the start pos field and type +.010 and press Enter and it go brr. Instead of just calling up the Event Properties dialog?

Sure it would be possible. One can even add mousewheel control to move events and values.
Unfortunately, it will take some work and I'm not currently doing any scripting (nor working in REAPER, in fact).
Come to think of it, just before I left, I was busy working on a new version of the Inspector that was a bit faster and that could inspect all editable takes. Perhaps I should check if I can quickly finalize and upload it.

@Julian, does this essentially mean, that we are about to lose one of the most significant scripters for MIDI in REAPER?
If so, that would be totally devastating...

Here's how the Inspector looks on my macOS system on the latest REAPER dev:
I haven't popped the script open to see what it could be, though. If Julian is no longer maintaining these tools, maybe we can get a group of scriptonauts together to keep these running. But I'd like to hear from Julian about his plans before doing anything.
EDIT: oh cray cray, as soon as I stopped playback, it started working. Looks like there's a bug if the transport is running when the inspector is opened.
