ReaEQ band solo option
Howdy folks,
I saw Dave Pensado use this on the Pro-Q (FabFilter) equalizer in one of his recent videos. I wondered if ReaEQ had this which it didn't.
Why anyone would want it? It's very common to drag a peak around the spectrum to determine which frequencies to remove. I reckon it would be a better practice to solo what the specific band is affecting, especially since it varies slightly when you remove the frequencies that you added in order to determine which to actually cut out.
Maybe too gimmicky? I'd find it useful.

I agree with the OP.
I use Fabfilter Pro Q regularly and being able to quickly solo just that band's particular curve in its current shape is extremely useful for finding strange resonances and cutting them.

CTRL+Drag gives solo bandpass sweeping in Voxengo GlissEQ too. Mousewheel controls bandwith at the same time.

Sure, there are nice workarounds, but the OP was about ReaEQ, it'd be nice to have it in ReaEQ.

I was just about to request the same thing.
The lack of band solo feature is one of the few things why I still couldn't completely commit to ReaEQ and find myself keep using FabFilter Pro-Q instead. I find EQ band solo tremendously handy for sound design and post-production.
I assume that implementation of such feature would be fairly effortless, since 'solo current band' already exists in ReaXcomp.

We need to add a few ReaScript API relating ReaEQ
In ReaEQ have Band Pass
In API - TrackFX_Get(Set)EQParam - do not

Yes.
If we have in ReaScripts in functions TrackFX_Get(Set)EQParam - band pass,
We can make a script with Band Pass = Band Solo.
And it is very necessary new API -
TrackFX_GetEQBandCount
and
TrackFX_Get(Set)EQBandEnabled2 - Without being bound to a particular bandtype,
only Bandidx

Not every case of user interaction is solved with extra script baggage.

Agreed. This would be a very handy feature so I wouldn't have to futz with Pro-Q.
