Default Keyboard Zoom

Suppose you see something on the screen and you want to zoom in.

Is this really that rare of thing? So how can it be done, I wonder?

No, I don't want to zoom in in the center of the screen. I want zoom in, say, under the mouse. Maybe I want to horizontal zoom, maybe vertical. Is this too much to ask?

Yes, I set it all up once, but I upgraded and lost the settings.

But is this impossible? Do I have to get a degree in programming and redesign my mouse shortcuts and keyboards just to zoom in on something I want to see? Really?

I know it can be frustrating but I think you'll get better help if you post a clear description of a single issue at a time.

Try using the scroll wheel over the item you want to zoom in on.

If you left click with the mouse, it moves the cursor to that time position, and then scrolling the mouse wheel will zoom on that spot.

I would like to zoom like I zoom in in Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Excel. Or any other Microsoft Program, or just about in any other windows program.

You put your mouse where you want to zoom, you do control mouse wheel and it will zoom on that item under your mouse or selection. It will not zoom in on the center of your screen - which is what is happening now when I zoom.

that would at least be better than what it does now, which is to zoom in to the center of the screen.

It moves the center of the screen to the point where you clicked the mouse, and zooms on that point. So, it is zooming on the point you clicked.
