Default Visibility Agents Like Cubase?

Coming from Cubase I an used to building a large disabled track template for media composing with well over 1000+ tracks.

Cubase has visibility agents where I could setup scripts in the Logical Editor that would allow me to show just the STRINGS, BRASS etc, hiding everything else from view to make getting around those large templates easy.

I am building the same in Reaper now but can't find any info on showing and hiding big groups of tracks like Cubase.

Also, is it possible to also hide parent folder tracks but keep the children tracks that have data on them visible?

Thanks for any help!!!

Maybe SWS snapshots?

It can be done. Involves cycle actions and the console to hide and show tracks by their name. It's really complicated. I can't remember well how i do it. It was years ago. Just had a look at the actions and their give me a headache.

I'm pretty sure you can do what you want with Screensets

yeah you can do what you want with a few custom actions. Easy to create them.

You will need to have two things for starters:

SWS extensions
ReaPack

The SWS installs a lot of extra actions... [don't leave home without it!]

ReaPack can install a slew of user created scripts, that essentially become actions.
There is one newish script by Lokasenna
You can find it in ReaPack with a filter search for Lokasenna name
it is called: Lokasenna_Select tracks by name.lua

When you first run it you get a GUI that lets you enter a name and also some other settings like select multiple tracks, etc.

when you set it up say for the track name BRASS, then you can hit the Export preset button on the GUI and you will generate a new action that you get to give a name to:

That will show in the actions list as:

Script: Lokasenna_Select tracks by name - Select BRASS.lua
[where "Select BRASS" is whatever you name it]

Ok so you make those for whatever named tracks you want
Then you create custom actions with those by adding the SWS actions

There many show and hide actions in the SWS set.... show all, show selected and hide others, etc. etc.

when you have your custom actions created you can add them to any toolbar or any menu....

Wow, I really want to thank everyone for the replies, really nice community, very appreciated!

I want to add that I did purchase OTR and he includes a bunch of scripts that do what I am asking but can't use them OUTSIDE of the OTR environment and it would take me awhile to figure out what's going on in them...
