Default Mix and Musicianship Suggestions/Critiques

Trying to improve my guitar playing and mixing skills.

Simple little Am 12 bar blues. Two guitars, each recorded twice and then panned left and right respectively. A bass, centered. Keyboard using the Organized Trio plugin, and drum track using MT Drum Kit.

A little EQ on some of the tracks, but that's pretty much it with respect to effects.

Came across this after posting the above, re-recorded using my PRS and my strat that I put new Fralin pickups in. Once again, the drum track and bass are pretty weak, but suggestions on mixing the two guitars would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks.

i thought the typical formula for dual guitars of classic blues rock was to hard pan the guitars and then pan their reverbs 60-80% to the opposite side.

The MT drums will only go so far (ie they are the weak link in the first track). try SSD5 drums instead. in general the drums sound mismatched to the reverb of the other instruments - so, they sound too narrow.
