Right click on the pan knob. Pick your flavour.

How to click on a knob which is simply not there? That's my problem ...
But from you post I read that it actually should be there!?

Has the pan knob been turned off in the Theme Adjuster by any chance?

If you are not sure, open Theme Adjuster and have a look at all the options for Track Control Panel and Mixer Control Panel.

Are you referring to the knob in the TCP or MCP?

Because by default some elements are hidden in the TCP when the mixer is open.
This can be changed, for instance, by setting Layouts > Track Panel to B, as shown here, starting at 0:55: https://youtu.be/I8LTBlNzmhA?t=55

You see no knob at all?
*inser fat guy joke*

Maybe you have made the mixer tracks so short the icon has disappeared. Hover your mouse just about the FX line and drag up until you see all the options you want.

Thanks for your answers!
- I don't see any panning knob, neither in MCP nor TCP
- No, I did not adjust themes, neither in Reaper v5 nor in v6 and did't plan to do so in Reaper v7
- I just upgraded from v5.99 to v6.0.1
- yes, I resized to see if this brings back the pan-control - no luck.

I will look at this "theme adjuster" thing and see if I can get the pan control back.

Regards,

Robert

EDIT: sorry, I must have been blind ... or looking in the wrong place. Resize actually does show the knob.

Same thing happened to me. When I reach a certain number of tracks, whole screen resizes and pan knob dissapears.

"Theme adjuster" let me put pan knob again.

Regards.

You can set the default in files > project settings, but no such option as, pan mode: nothing, in there.

Default Pan Knob Found!

In Actions, Search "Theme". Open the "default 6 theme adjuster", unchoose "Hide" for all possible manifestations of the Pan knob. There are a few tabs you might have to scroll through. For me the Save Button disappeared when I tried to click on it. Or was that a bug? Or a tool tip?
But pushing the dock button (upper right) after "Un-Hiding" got me the pan knob back.

I'd been switching to other themes all week till I figured that out.

By the way the theme docks to the bottom of the screen minimalized. Terminating it vanquished my Pan knob the first go round. Did it all again and then "X-ed"the theme window closed.
The Pan knob titles don't stay attached to the knob/knobs with track resizing. . .

Love the 6 colors. . .

Default no pan knob option in default 6.0 mixer section

Found this old thread from googling--so I don't see any option to make the pan knob visible in the mixer section--just in the track control panel.

Do you agree? I hope not!

Default pan knob

Right--I don't see it, and can't figure out how to get it to show.

There's no hide option as far as I'm aware.

Have you got default theme selected? Have you tried another theme?

Default pan knob

It does show when I choose default 5.0. Although I like the new default better because of the way it displays track groupings in the mixer section. It's really weird that they aren't giving an option to display the pan knob--there's plenty of room for it.

It's always displayed. That's why no option. If not displaying for you something seems to be wrong with your install.

May we have some screenshots please? The default 6 theme should never hide the mixer pan knob.

Default pan knob

Thanks guys--I have a screen shot, but the file size is too big so I'll have to figure out how to shrink it later.

My first guess is that the mixer height is perhaps currently too small in combination with having a certain (150% or 200%) Mixer Panel layout selected.
So try if dragging the mixer height bigger makes any difference or shows more elements.

You can upload bigger screenshots to an external hoster like imgur.com and then attach the link to the post. More info here: https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...22&postcount=2
