Default Subprojects

Can you refresh my memory please? I haven't used the subproject feature for ages and forgot how it works exactly.

Anyhow, I wanted to record another guitar track in a project but when I take Asio settings down to 128 everything starts creaking with the strain when I start to play.

So I subproject all the other tracks so they are all rendered. I record a guitar track. So is there anyway of getting this track back into the original project without copying and pasting?

And if I do have to copy and paste where do I place the mouse cursor to do the pasting

This video is super helpful.

Basically the workflow should be that when you save the subproject, it automatically renders the stereo output of the subproject to a file that the top level project references. This means you shouldn't have to copy and paste anything.
